I dropped **Mrs Magill** at the airport. **Fang** called while we were on the way there. He had a four hour layover at Charlotte Douglas, and was bored. He flew from the regional airport by Ft Hood to Dallas, then Dallas to Charlotte, and finally to Providence where he’ll meet **Mrs Magill**. He had a sergeant drive him to the airport. The sergeant was happy to do so, he got to take half the day off, because he was “assisting an officer.”

I love macerated strawberries with Swedish pancakes or Belgian waffles.

I wasn’t sure if it was TMI, but I wanted to get those thoughts down. I think the lack of body dysphoria plus the fact that I like girls are why it took me so long to figure this out. Popular culture has put out the idea that all trans people hate their bodies and feel like they’re trapped in the wrong body. That’s just not true. There is also the popular perception that trans = gay. I mean, I guess I _am_ gay, but not in the way you’d be thinking.

No, you don’t have to know how to fight, but if you’re a line cook there, you do need to know how to quickly memorize orders. They don’t submit tickets. I had a fraternity brother who worked at Waffle House to earn tuition money. It’s a good job.

For me, lidocaine cream tends to work better for itchies than topical benadryl or hydrocortisone cream.

So the Senior Clerk called out, so TPTB decided to put K, the slow disorganized clerk on the 200 Slide, put me on the 100 Sort Table, and left the 300 Slide to their own devices. Also, they have new label shooters in unload, but they shoot the label on the side of the package, instead of the top or bottom, and nobody mentioned this, so people were tossing packages down the slides rather than checking all sides of the boxes. And when I did get off the table and get to the 100 and 200 slide? You know the saying “open up a can of worms”? I did the reverse, as I had to corral a bunch of escaped mealworms back into their canister. I wonder if since I wrangled a bunch of worms in sand, the Fremen will recognize me as the Lisan al-Gaib? but I digress. Things ran long, late Air, understaffing? machines slowing things down? So the drivers didn’t leave till after 9030. Cleanup wasn’t hideous, I was out by noon. I did my Senior Day shopping. You can tell we have a drought, the ears of corn are tiny. But now I’m home, eating a formerly frozen pizza, and Spot is off being cat and mysterious.

Well, I got here and read this morning and didn’t get the chance to reply. Now I came back and there was more to read. Shocking! Heh.

So, anyways, I was going to answer **shoe’s** inquiry about the resin adventures before me. I guess the thing is that I LOVE working with resin, but it is so freaking messy and I have no freaking patience. I’ve made and sold many resin items, but I did just try to give it all up and I was going to sell all my molds and things. Funny how they’re all still here.
Well, as part of the work on the house, I knew that I needed to move my pillar piece. It’s one of those objects that is old, peeling, and I just absolutely love it. This pillar piece has been with me for probably 40 years. And 26 years ago when I had my own home I decided that it needed to be preserved because the paint was starting to peel. My brilliant idea even back then was to paint it with resin to toughen it up. So, my really brilliant idea was to do this right in the middle of my dining room table. The smell was so strong that I could not sleep in my own home that evening.
As the piece has aged sitting outside on my front porch it has become even more fragile. My plan is to use UV resin to coat it this time. The only slow down at this point is that MusicMan offered to go to the storage unit and get one of the giant sheet pans for me to put it on and he came home with the average sized pans instead. So, it’s all going to have to be postponed until after my little trip.

This picture is me trying to find a use for it where it wouldn’t take up too much space. Although it probably won’t stay there because it would be too easy to accidentally kick it.

Had training at work today over how to use Copilot/AI to make us more efficient and better at our jobs. I wasn’t impressed. Other than drafting some emails or the beginnings of memos, the examples they used were rather lackluster. One presenter was very excited about what it can do with an Excel spreadsheet - it was terrible! I could have done what he was trying to do in 30 seconds with a formula. Instead he spent five minutes debugging the errors Copilot kept coming back with.

Bah. I am morally opposed to so much about AI, but I can’t let my skills or know-how to become obsolete either. Morals don’t pay the bills. Work isn’t mandating minimum usage _yet_ (some friends are required to log a minimum of so many AI usages per week) but based on the company’s Copilot stats they shared, they are definitely tracking who is using it and how. Mandates may not be far off.

A bottle of wine will be opened tonight…

**nellie** That is amazing about your back! I can’t imagine how much of a relief that is.

**JtC** also good news from you - hopefully recovery continues to go well.

**Mrs Magill** just let me know she’s landed. The flight took off late and had to fly around some storms, so they landed very late. Her seat was towards the back, the lady behind her kept making use of the barf bags (thankfully she had a mask and mint gum), and there was a baby a few rows up.

I told her that’s what she gets for responding “Always do!” When I wished her a good flight.

I am back and absolutely _stuffed_ with Indian food. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had (I really miss the Indian food options in Bristol), but it’s definitely far and away the best place locally and I’d never even noticed the place before, despite it being on a main street, I’ve only been to a larger, decidedly mediocre, place since I moved here. We got a set menu, which was all sharing bowls- almost everyone took several boxes of it home for later, including me.

Got home past bedtime, but I’m too full even try to go to sleep yet, and it’s only just going dark, so I went and did some late slug hunting in the tunnel. Luckily the parcel that finally arrived was mainly melatonin, as you can’t just buy it here, but you can get a friend in Germany to post it you… I may try it out tonight. I’ve bought it before on holiday but I was almost out.

Looking at the weather scanner, there’s a spectacular lightning storm meandering in our general direction, so I’m not sure I’ll get much sleep regardless if that hits, but oh well. It may pass North.

I got quite a few positive comments about my email telling the board they were stupid. I also think I got a new nickname. I said “I don’t care about organizational politics, I’m just the shop goblin that builds the stuff people come to see.” I got called shop goblin a bunch today.

It has been so wet here lately that I have slugs climbing up the back of my house. Ick!!

Howdy Y’all! Much sloth abounded today. The rains came and we settled down to stare at stoopid stuff, read, nap and day drink. Ah the joys of retirement! Sup got fixed and et as well. Now I am goin’ to stare at some Netflix and eat some ice cream. Livin’ it up tonight!

**Herald** you really shouldn’t give **doggio** ideas. He’ll be pourin’ gin over chikin and settin’ it on fire! Spot will be unhappy that his gin is bein’ used in such a reckless way.

**Mollie** don’t know if this will make any sense, but maybe it’s **Maus** did his job and did it well, but now it’s **Mollie’s** turn to take over and do what she does well. Hope that’s not offensive. If it is, I apologize and will go sit in a corner and feel shame. Wishin’ **Mrs Magill and Fang** safe trips and a good time.

**Coppertone** sorry about the job interview. It’s good to have a weight loss aim you feel is manageable. Depends on the shift at WH. From midnight to five a.m. for sure you need to know how to fight or throw chairs. After that the crowd is early breakfast folks, geezers who wander in durin’ the late mornin’ and early afternoon, folks gettin’ off night shifts, and well, people who just like to eat at WH.

**Cat\_Glove** the mower allegedly mulches. I guess it does as the yahd does not look like I’ve been bailin’ hay after mowage. Also, the idea of cow manure bein’ better with age amuses me greatly! Milo’s is indeed da bomb!

**Cookie** I shall reference Sean the Sheepman for future go down a rabbit hole needs. It sounds as though I would be highly entertained.

**MOOOOOOM** I first read that as “wedding” instead of weeding and thought… hmm.. have we embarked upon a new career?

**Nettie** Emotional Support Honey Badgers would be a great death metal band name!

**JtC** glad you checked in. Poor GG! His mommy keeps changin’ forms! That’s definitely a reason to stay stoned.

**Nuts** glad the package finally arrived. What with the drinks, snacks, and cussin’ you make WFH sound fun! Enjoy dinner with your friends. I have never had Indian food. I probably should remedy that one day.

**52** you have given me yet another reason to be glad I am now a RDOS. I know one must keep one’s skills up for irk purposes. May it become at least tolerable. Enjoy the wine.

**VanGo** I trust you wear the name shop goblin with pride.

Evening all. Did my sweating at the gym and had some cheese dogs for a mid-day meal, will shortly fix a Cheeburger with chips for the evening repast, then more soccer to watch before the USA game at 9pm (local-Central Time). Outside of that nothing planned until the Great July Shopping Trip tomorrow. Made it to 86F today, but some clouds and very low humidity, so not totally uncomfortable.

**Nut** , enjoy the dinner.

Not really, I still go into the pool area now and then, but mostly for the whirlpool, the sweating I do out in the gym makes it harder to find the time and energy for swimming.

**Mollie** , hope **Fang** make his connections. Glad the Mrs. made it, but am also happy I can usually afford Business/First class these days… Don’t see any storms in your area (I think your about 100+ miles North of me) but may not be up to date.

**doggio** , just how does stuff get delivered anyway? And while your list is…interesting, mine I fear is more mundane, with veggies, cereal, Pepsi, hamburgers and other edible stuff.

**Shop Goblin** is a great name.

And time to fix that Chee-burger. Good evening all.
**Sticky Buns** , happy resining!

**52** , nice to know AI isn’t quite infallible…yet…good luck with it.

> [@purplehorseshoe](#):

> I know this is an innocent typo, but that’s hilarious to my dark sense of humor.

when I read it at first, I took it literally and didn’t understand. after about a minute, I realized the typo. my daughter has a good friend, Fred (not his real name and I have no idea what his dead name was as I met him after he began using the name Fred which was the name his parents were going to name him if he had been born with male genitalia). Anyway, Fred had surgery to remove all the female bits (breasts and reproductive organs) and the Dr was going to fashion a male organ for him.

**JtC** yay for pain levels being very low and having your thumb back! I’m also concerned about bees up here in the mitten state. They don’t seem to be plentiful as in the past. It doesn’t seem like the garden is getting pollinated. I have marigolds, lavender and firecrackers (that’s what we call bee balm), also butterfly weed which just sprang into bloom last week.

Our trash, recyclables and garden waste collection day is Friday. Hubs normally parks at the curb so we had to go out this evening and jockey the cars around into the driveway as I will be up and out much earlier than he is awake. He drug the grass clipping can out to the curb at same time. **shoe** good thing you don’t live here; City Council recently passed an ordinance that tickets will be given out if containers are put out before 6pm on Thursdays or not taken in by late evening (don’t remember exact time) on Fridays. I don’t like this as when Bella is over on the weekends, I generally don’t have to carry solid waste bags very far since there’s always someone in the neighborhood with their trash cans out on Saturday or even Sunday.

**nut** glad to hear you received your package, you know what they say, Third times the charm.

**FCM** don’t know if you’d enjoy it but on occasion I have scrambled huevos with nopalitos. Tasty.

**Swampy** if you like spicy hot food, then you’ll like the Indian food; otherwise . . . .

I worked for the 4th day in a row and finally am caught up on recording transactions. Also prepared a budget reallocation and documentation to get the petty cash replenished; entered both into the financial software. Since June 30 is fiscal yearend, we’re very aware about getting everything caught up. Won’t go in tomorrow but will on Saturday so I don’t have to do 4 days of transactions on Monday. On Monday I have an appointment to donate blood in the early afternoon so want to be done with work by 11am, if possible.

Tomorrow night the City is having a drone show in celebration of the country’s 250th birthday. We’re looking forward to it.

Well, I need to finalize the Kroger shopping list so wishing you all have a good night’s sleep.

Yes, **Nellie,** the article is informative **.**

I recently had an Intrathecal pain pump implanted. It delivers tiny drops of pain meds on a schedule.

It has been a lifesaver, or least a pain saver. I was having bad issues at dialysis 3 times a week.

It’s another Borg device. I’m Seven of Nine. You’ll have to be someone else. 😄 sorry, I was first.

Happy you’re getting relief.

I napped. I had a margarita. Diner was Baked Fried Chicken with cheesy potato rounds and green beans with bacon.

I take confort in the fact when I have to spend time fixing machine mistakes, I get paid by the hour. Plus opening a bottle of gin.
