Oh, one more story from work. I really wish I’d snapped a clandestine photo of this order. Ham sammich. Plus bacon. Add … { _deep breath_ } - Black olives - Green olives - Onions - Green peppers - Banana peppers - Mushrooms - Zucchini (who the _fuck_ puts zuck on a ham sandwich? Sir, is everything okay? Please blink twice if we need to call any authorities.) - … probably a buncha other stuff I forgot, we offer quite a selection, and this guy went _nuts_ on his order My **S.M.** walked in from her break, and I was like, "You gotta see this absolutely unhinged sandwich I’m making … " and she looked at the ticket, looked at me, looked back at the ticket, and immediately sent me on my break. I did not argue. Went to my car, had a few puffy-puffs, and then just stared into the void for a moment. ---

**Mrs Magill** is up in Connecticut this Weekend, and I miss her. I told her I love her and wished her a good flight as I dropped her off at the airport, but she didn’t say it back. It’s possible she didn’t hear me. Would it have been better if I’d kept my yap shut? I don’t know. I’m currently wearing being out and without her versus remaining in the closet but still being with her. I still think my net happiness would have been higher had I kept my yap shut. ---

@nelliebly was it you who had some sort of “EAT!” command that started with the letter “m”? Well, whoever it was, I obeyed! Coupla cheese’n’crackers for when I got offa work a while ago, and now I have a semi-spicy beef empanada AND butternut squash ravioli with kale sauce (see, ma! eatin’ mah vegetables!) awaiting me finishing up with ~~this wee quarter joint~~ you fine lovely folks. And some chicken [broth](https://fondregenerative.com/products/regenerative-chicken-bone-broth-pure-unflavored-4-jars), which is delicious, insanely priced, and probably cures various ailments. It better, for the cost, but each sip makes me a happy **Shoe** so, worth it I guess. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 92 and sunny. We shall definitely have quality cee-mint pond time today. We have nowhere we need or want to go, so a day of RDOS sloth is in store. Any need to feed today will be via forage as we have various leftovers, sammich makin’s and so forth. **VanGo** ICK! I am so glad I left the irkforce before the advent of team and zoom meetin’s. Teleconference calls were bad enough, but I could at least put myself on mute and do other things without everyone knowin’ it. OYKW and I will sometimes pour a beer in a cup, add a splash or two of V8 or tomato juice, a dash or two of hot sauce, black pepper, and a squeeze of lemon or lime. We call it a “Bloody Bubba.” Is a “red beer” similar to that? Probably not cause not everybody is as sophisticated and refined as OYKW and me. **shoe** at least she gave the appearence of bein’ repentent. She probably wasn’t, but at least she made the attempt. **Coppertone** I am pretty sure there’s a cliché in there somewhere. “When life gives you lemon ade with lemons in it ummm… make sure you have some antacid?” However, free pizza, score! **MetalMouse** on the occasions when I do skinny dip, I take off attire at the cee-mint pond and will don said attire to walk across the yahd to da cave. I have no idea why except that it just must be done. **FlyBoy** I know it’s just a typo, but the idea of puttin’ a customer in a hole amuses me. Some customers probably deserve that. Go Goo! Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 25c/77f with a predicted high of 26c/80f and mostly cloudy. Last night was fun, the Giffard was not too busy and therefore not as hot as the previous weekend. We saw two very good bands (and heard the opener as we were sitting outside). Got home about 1.30am and had to stay up for a while to let the bedroom cool down before heading for some sleep. I am up and drinking tea, the cats are fed and flaked out on the floors, and we have to leave for sunny Cardiff and [Blackbird Festival](https://www.blackbirdfest.com/) - we will probably not get there for the first couple of bands but that means we stay at home longer with the windows open to cool it down before we have to close it up (with cats inside) for 24hrs. Fortunately it’s about 6c cooler than yesterday so the mogs will be fine with extra water and their coolmats. ---

Splashing? My money is on the floaty option. Today starts around 73 Ferrets, heading to mid-80s (tomorrow and Moanday, too) with chances of rain. If it holds off after breakfast, I may try to plant some of the iris that I dug up in the back yard - there’s a bare stretch out front and I think they’ll look nice there. Not sure what else will be accomplished or ignored. I’m thinking of making a huge pot of veggie-beef-barley soup to be divided and frozen for future meals. I guess we’ll see how things develop. Morning all. Up and will shortly dress and head out on the Braunschweiger run (for those newer here on the MMP, I only eat Oscar Meyer Braunschweiger–grew up with it–and can only get it from a couple of stores 20-25 miles away, so every couple of months…). Nothing much else planned, World Cup games don’t get going until 3:30pm today so have the afternoon free for…who knows. Probably not much outside work, it’s due to hit 92F today (77F now). We’ll see. Good morning. I heard **Spike** coming in this morning at about six, so I got up. I made sure he knew about the leftover butter chicken in the fridge. He did. He said his butter chicken sense was alerted when he came in and smelt the fading aroma of garam masala. I then asked him to let Chloé out of her crate, since she didn’t want to do any business before I put her in last night. I had a buddy for the last couple of sleeping hours. Today is the town’s July 4th celebration. They always hold it on the Saturday before the fourth, so they don’t have to compete with Nashville’s. The town let is have a booth to sell Band Flag subscriptions in exchange for lining the entrance of the school with flags. I’m hoping the rain holds off. ---

OMG, what a HUGE omelet!! If (when?) we go back to that place for breakfast, first thing I’ll do is cut it in half and box it. Plus it came with toast and spud chunks. I’s stuffded! It wasn’t breakfast - it was brunch! After, we ran to Food Lion, which is in the same shopping complex, and I scored 4 of the root beers that **FCD** prefers. Now we’re home, well, I’m home - he’s gone to buy some plywood for his next project. I’ve got a big pot o’soup on the stove, which sent my brain to weird places. Did humans start using seasonings and spices to make food taste better or to cover up the less-than-fresh meats? Surely in the days before a refrigerator, you’d not eat a whole cow at once. I suppose I should do a search. Later. Gotta stir the soup now… &%#&%#&%# From the looks of weather radar, we might see a little rain early this afternoon - so when the soup is done, I may go play in the dirt a bit. We’ll see how my motivation holds. I do need to run the rollsucker in our bedroom - at least on my side of the bed, thanks to Ziva leaving me bits of kibbles and litter. Lover offerings or just untidiness? _Hmmmmmm_. ---
