Worked 1.75 hrs which was more like it. Found package on porch when I got home containing 4 jigsaw puzzle window hanging things. Opened one and doesn’t look like it will be easy to put together. Took 4 boxes of various types of pasta and 3 jars of spaghetti sauce to the food pantry. The lady who met me at the door wanted to take it and let me go back to my car right away. I said thanks but I want my box back; we keep it near the back door so when we buy something to donate, we put it in there until the first weekend when it’s collected at church. Since I missed the food collection during September and I had time before I was meeting friends for lunch, I decided to drop it off today. Originally we were going to have 6 meet for lunch but one lady texted me last night that she had a runny nose and was coughing so figured it would be better if she didn’t come. I got to the diner 15 minutes before we were supposed to meet and was getting the side eye from several of the employees since I was sitting at a 6 top. Finally a server came over and asked if I was by myself and after I told her there would be 5 of us, she went back to where 3 other employees were and let them know that I wasn’t in an inappropriate seating area. Had a cup of chili which was very good as it was packed with a whole heck of a lot of meat. I also had a mini Greek salad which was just mediocre. I’ve had Greek salads there before which were good so might have another in the future. Since it was the last day of the month, we had to go to Kroger gas to fill up and use up our gas points. Well neither of us had driven much since we last got gas mid-month so only got a total of 9 gallons. Can’t believe it’s already after midnight. So, luckily the computer hasn’t turned into a pumpkin but the mouse I use with this laptop seems to have jumped onto the floor and is scurrying away. Night all. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 89 and sunny, but becomin’ cloud mid-afternoon with a chance of rain. We shall go to the hog trough GC late mornin’ for today’s main need to feed. OYKW wants their fried chikin. The rest of the day will be spent in RDOS sloth, as is our usual wont. A rainy/stormy next few days is predicted by TWPTB. We shall see. **VanGo** some folks just do not learn. The snail people are apparently amongst them. Glad Ms. Peach now has a secure yahd. **JtC** slightly senile, very deaf worried grandmother sounds like fun! Watchin’ fog rise over a forest is indeed a delight. Yay for the door bein’ up again. The doorknob has now given you a story to tell. Maybe you can use it the next time your grandchild is in jail and calls. **Mollie** the thought of you bein’ out of pimento cheese made me want to clutch pearls and fall on the faintin’ couch! 😲 Actually I will need to make some more soon. I love me a grilled pimento cheese sammich and both of us like to eat pimento cheese on crackers. **doggio** I read that first as "cavatappi with broccoli with **Oreos** , garlic and Calabrian chilis. YUM! We did our windows replacement in the Spring and managed to get it done on a day that was not false Summer or a F5 tornado day. **Cat\_Glove** in addition to the monthly monetary donation, we take foodstuffs to the church house that get delivered to NIN at least twice a month. At least once a month we do toiletries. Those are always appreciated. **shoe** the butternut squishy with pear sounds like it would be so tasty! I see that was tonight’s winner. I’ve tried that trick to remind me of things I need to take on trips. But once you’ve gone thru that door 3 or 4 times, the note loses its impact.. Starting with 59 Ferrets, we may creep into the 80s today. Ick. I’ll accompany **FCD** to the boat this morning to help him remove a bunch of stuff he disassembled yesterday. Then when we get home, I’ll attack the rest of the windows. We don’t have all that many in total. Three in the front that are 6’ tall, three bedroom windows that are a more “normal size”, two small bathroom windows, and one 3’X3’ (I think) in the kitchen. Oh, and a big bow window unit in the living room. I may go ahead and get some estimates just so I know how to budget, but I expect it’ll be in the 5-figure range. So, boat tidying and windows shall be my day. On the way to the marina, we’ll swing by the Board of Elections and drop off our ballots. Afternoon, mumpers! You’ll be pleased to hear that I survived yesterday’s threats to life and limb 🙂 It’s currently 16c/61f with no predicted change, and a chance of showers. Weather app says “Annoying rainy fucking bullshit” and totally ignores the fact it’s lovely and sunny outside. **Nut** I hope things don’t get any worse than this student. We already had a lot of the toilets changed to be ones that have the cistern behind some panelling so that our overseas visitors don’t use the wrong bit… **JtC** conga-rats on getting all your permits done! After all the drama at work yesterday, it was a relief to go home. I fed the cats, then had a nice relaxing bath, made some dinner and went to the pub. Today our office has been unlocked and there’s been no sign of the rogue student. Various people have been in to see if we’re ok, and how we’re feeling which is nice of them. Campus security people have been in and out of the building but we’ve not heard if the student has been suspended, or removed by her family either back home or to some place where she can get some professional help. I’ve had a meeting with Troublesome Minion this morning, it ran over by half an hour because she had a lot to rant about. As usual, it’s the long-running saga of her being moved from one place to another with no consultation etc (which I know is not the truth, but cannot say so) and now drags in a few other things that she wants to be a victim about. One of those things involves the person she claims not to have a grudge against but at the same time says that she feels some things were personal…it’s getting ridiculous now. She’s an adult, she should be able to let some of this stuff go, most of it was over a decade ago and no amount of rehashing it will make any difference. I do my best to be sympathetic, but my patience is wearing thin ☹ ---

Good morning! I (once again) slept through my walking alarm. I like that I’m feeling well rested, but I miss my puppy walking time. That and, since my stamina is in the toilet now, I need to exercise to get it back. I mentioned in my other thread how much testosterone contributed to stamina. It’s like a cheat code. **Mrs Magill’s** parents and sister are coming today for **Squeaky’s** homecoming. The Band director has put out the call to alumni to join the Band in the stands, so **Spike** is coming in, too. Morning all, Between finance, webcomics, youth soccer, and my Big Bowl O’Cheerios, I am just getting to the MMP this morn. Not much on the schedule again, weather is nice and I’ll have to go get the bin from the curb here in a bit (heard the truck outside) but that’s about the only thing I have to do. Rest is up to me and me would rather rest… Now see what went on while I was otherwise occupied…16 messages, so let’s see what has transpired. **JtC** , the Tennessee River is a good 10-12 miles away so not much benefit from it fog-wise. But I can remember a few days In Abu Dhabi, right on the Gulf and 100F heat and humidity–even the Emerati drivers turned on their flashers and slowed down. And thanks for the window advice, shades drawn is the usual thing around here, no peeking in houses in N. Good morning. It’s 49F and cloudy outside. It’ll be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy throughout the day, with a daytime high of 69F. No moisture, though. **BooFae** , it would drive me a little crazy not knowing if that student had been picked up or removed. I’m sorry TM continues to be a trial. And yeah, she needs to learn to let go or move on to someplace new. **JtC** , yay for getting all the permits submitted! I hope the whole process goes well. **FCM** , yay for your mother getting sprung from the horsepital. I hope she continues to improve. I spent most of yesterday doing nothing much. Today, however, I’ll need to get my butt in gear. I need to rollsuck the house and wash the hard floors. That’ll be today’s mission. Yesterday was the full-year anniversary of my official retirement date. I have to say it was a bittersweet day. I like being on my own clock, but I gotta say, I still fret over whether I could really afford to do this. I still look for jobs from time to time. My husband still thinks I am working, and while we’re okay right now, it still worries me, mainly because of major expenses. Probably too much TMI. **FCM** , you’re right about windows being at least five figures; at least out here, they are. Our windows are original, and most aren’t “standard” size. The house was built in 2002/2003, so they’re old, and they just aren’t doing the job they used to do. I guess I should get going. In addition to the inside chores, I’d like to cut the grass, too. Maybe I’ll get my husband to do that for me. Please take care of yourselves. ---

yest. was my name/saint/angel day, so i had the day off and had an all me day. first a novella from a series of books was released on tuesday. i bought the book and put it and present one in a bag for me to open first am. rolled out of bed, got lager set up, treats for koritza and headed out for haircut. they took me straight away, so did not open book. after hair, went to restaurant for breakies. opened book! really gorgeous illustrations, wow. [Threshing Day | Rebecca Yarros](https://threshingday.com/) got a few people in. then went to some small boutique stores in the neighbourhood for more pressies. found some fun things. then home to finish book with lager and koritza. all in all a lovely day. uff da, scareyfaerie, that was quite the day! i hope things go calmly for you the rest of the week. ---
