Someone living in the area maybe a half-mile from us was setting off what seemed like mortars last night. Not the usual firecrackers or cherry bombs, but something creating reverberating booms. Fortunately, weā€™ve had about 3 1/2 inches of rain in the last few days to relieve our mild drought, so thereā€™s much less chance of these idiots setting fires. And they generally take their sad soggy selves indoors after 10:30 pm. ---
