> I was playing the game here and was distracted and the level ended up in a state from which it couldn’t be completed. I tried to end the level but that button doesn’t work. So I closed the window it was in. The music continued, all my open windows but one disappeared and my desktop was cleared of icons. To return to SDMB or anything else and get rid of the hideous music I had to reboot.

FYI, the bugginess was with your web browser, then, as there’s no way JavaScript and HTML should have been able to do that.

I personally think it’s awesome that stuff like this existed before HTML5 made it a thing. It sucks that a lot of it doesn’t work on modern browsers, though. (No music, no saving (even in the same playthrough)

Fiance’s 8 y/o was flipping through an old book of my game CDs not too long ago and _insisted_ that I install Lemmings on the communal laptop. I really didn’t think he’d dig it since he had probably just finished up a bout of “Lego Batman”, but wth. He was enthralled by it, it’s amazing how such a brilliantly designed simple game like Lemmings can still entertain.

And by “entertain” I mean drive you completely apeshit obsessed because you can’t figure ot how to solve the stage without one more fucking miner/climber/parachute…

If your like me and think the simplest software programming is Greek, try downloading D-Fend Reloaded. It does everything for you.
