After leftover corned beef & cabbage for dinner, Mi Esposa said, ‘I wish we had some cookies.’ So I went to the kitchen and started making toll house cookies. She didn’t know that we had Nestlé semi-sweet morsels. When she came to the kitchen to see what I was doing, she started giving me ‘advice’, because she’s an ‘expert at toll house cookies’. Like, don’t use the 1-cup measuring cup to measure dry ingredients, because it’s for liquids. (NB: There aren’t any liquids in the recipe.) And ‘Don’t use the mixer when you incorporate the flour mixture.’ How many batches of toll house cookies have I made in my life? Many. While I did eschew the 1-cup measuring cup (since she was there), I did use the hand mixer for the rest.
Anyway, I made a buttload of cookies. Apparently they are good, as she’s eating them. And I granted her wish. ![]()
