> **Nellie and BBBoo** glad y’all posted even if just to stick your haids in to say hi. Come back when you are ready. Folks come and go in the MMP and are always welcome or welcomed back.

What **swampy** said. I dimly remember some contretemps a little while ago, but it didn’t affect me as much as it obviously did you guys. It happens whenever you have a group of people interacting as much as we do (and face it, we all interact _a lot_), sometimes there are bruises but like the physical ones, they heal up in time. Keep on checking on us and come on back when you’re ready; the MMP will be here with open arms.

**Cookie** , Conga-rats to grandson, that’s quite an accomplishment! Hope the storm isn’t too bad.

**Oopsie** , good on ya for releasing your ticket, someone will enjoy it. And sometime I think about cutting my Direct TV, given the amount of time (very brief) that I watch it. Haven’t quite worked up the nerve yet. Good luck on the removal process.

**rocky** , good luck herding cats…I mean, reaching a consensus on the chairs and fabrics…

**swampy** , could use some of that rain here, the lawn is getting rather parched-looking.

And time to start changing into my ‘soccer coaching’ gear, so catch y’all a bit later.

Daughter and hers are on their way. She said they’ll stop rather than drive all the way overnight, so huzzah! When we were young, we did a few of those overnight drives, but we got smarter. I’m glad they got smarter sooner. Plus we didn’t drive with 2 little kids. Anyway, I feel better about the trip.

Trevor has been mostly chill, tho he’s a licker. And he’s good with relaxing on the back deck. If it cools a bit tomorrow, I may play fetch with him until my arm wears out. Or not. It’s laundry day after all.

The rest of tonight is for chillage. Hope MIL can sleep thru tonight…

Less Michael Kay in your life is a better thing. 😁

Got the oil changed in the truck, plus inspection. Then went and got blood drawn for testing re my Lyme.

Time for some dinner type things. I think some of the chix I got marinating in lime etc over some rice.

> BTW, I highly recommend a “complete removal” deal if your hubby winds up deciding to get his removed and finds a place that offers one:

Thank you for the clear explanation. He hasn’t actually started looking for places, but when next he brings it up I will share what you explained.

So, I just got the call from the vet. Jolene no longer has a UTI but she does have Ovarian Remnant Syndrome. I’ll make some calls tomorrow, but she probably won’t be able to be re-spayed for a few weeks due to vets being so busy out here.

I do want to say how proud I was of GG today. My room has a side window that looks out at the front porch. You can also see the front door. Of course there is a kitty tree next to the window and GG likes to sit there and watch us come home. Today he figured out that he was looking at the outside of the door he sees us come in. I could see him looking at us and the door and then back at us. Suddenly a new brain wrinkle was formed and he ran out of sight to greet us at the front door. What a smart kittah!!!

> Do you have a generator and/or an alternative source of heat? A month is probably more than enough.

Of course we have a generator, he bought it when he bought the trailer we were going to use to take our trash to the dump (which hasn’t happened so far, he just pulls the big can out to the street like always). We can cook and heat one room and would be OK for quite a while except we don’t have a way to keep the internet working. We would last about a day without it so if the roads were drive-able, we would go find ourselves a cat-friendly motel for a while.

I really don’t see that happening here. Mostly I think the roads will get sloppy and we won’t want to go to the sto. Hubs thinks we need a 4-wheel vehicle and I’m trying to forestall that conversation for as long as possible. Like after one of us hits a deer.

Oh, fun fact. Elk are not native to Arizona. Elk were imported from Yellowstone and West Virginia long before AZ became a state. Elk thrive in AZ because of the mild winters and ample forage. Elk in West Virginia died out when the forests were clear cut. People wanted elk back so brought some in to restart the population. 60 of them came from AZ.

I get along with sniks just fine, but a phobia is an uncontrollable fear. It would sound trite to compare them to allergies, but they really are a physical reaction to external stimuli.

We usually tip just fine, but this was the sort of place that you order at the counter, fill your own drink and bus your own table. Hubs usually drops a couple of bucks in the tip jars, but ain’t nobody gets to tell me that I am too old to figure out how to order a pizza online and still gets tipped.

As the food was till good, I looked at their website when we got home. Not only could I figure it out, I saw a few other things that weren’t on the paper menu.

Ten days ago I scattered a bit more than half a packet of radish seeds into a disused concrete basin-_cum_-planter in the back yard. I just noticed they’re growing/ I didn’t space them out, or anything. Not planning to thin them. We’ll just see what happens. I’ll check them in a couple of weeks to see if they’re ready to eat. I hope they’re nice and hot.

I’ll sauté the greens.

Almost every night. By the time I’m done messing with the food, I don’t really want the food. It works the same with doggy bags, if I have to mess with heating it I will lose interest in eating it.

Dinner tonight was air fried potato chips, steamed asparagus and grilled hamburgers. I ate two chips, all of my asparagus and half of my burger.

I was **shoe** sized before my thyroid freaked out.

Today we went to the Visitor’s Center in Logan and looked around. It was a mini museum with a Hatfield/McCoy merchandise gift shop. After that, we dropped off some returns at the UPS sto and then went to Capt D’s for lunch. I got crab cakes and lobsta bites. I miss tacos, but sure do love the fried seafood.

Happy Thorsday!

I’m up too late, it’s been a long day.

Misiu had a bout of fever last night so I didn’t sleep well. I forgot to turn in the AC in my room and while it was comfortable when I went to bed, it got really hot overnight. I don’t know if the heat was making him sick, or something else.
He wouldn’t go with me this morning to pick up my son from irk, so for the first time, he stayed home alone. He was fine. Echo and Rayleigh were a bit confused. They didn’t want to go without him.

My son just texted that there won’t be any OT this week.

I made shrimp for lunch today and totally over seasoned them.
They make me cough when I eat them.
I’ll figure out something, maybe mix them with rice and veggies, or put them in an omelet.

No more long drives for me if I can help it.
I’m getting to be a wussie, I don’t even want to go on to 70 if I can help it. I don’t know if it’s me, but it seems like people are a lot ruder than they used to be, and a lot crazier.
And most stupid, like yesterday some guy was half way turned into a parking lot when he decided he didn’t want to go there anymore. So, he backed on onto Rt 40, into rush hour traffic. Just a few days before that I was behind an 18-wheeler that missed the right turn lane, and tried to make the turn from the middle lane. He realized he couldn’t do it without taking out a bunch of light posts, so everybody had to back up. I don’t know how he missed the right turn lane; it’s a big intersection and the lanes are extra wide because of all the trucks that go through there.

I could probably go a year without buying food, but we will be very bored.
I keep saying I’m not going to buy anything except for what my son wants, he’s a much pickier eater, but then I see something on sale and think I’d better stock up. Or I’ll order something from CostCo and if I spend just a little bit more, I get free shipping. Another case of Ramen it is.
Ramen is like toilet paper, one can never have too much.
It may not be the healthiest choice, but it’s quick to make, easy on the tummy, and great for a sore throat.

… shrimp salad?

* * *

I’m simmering a packet of those Knorr noodle things (chicken flavor, in case anyone is interested) cuz my tummy is unhappy with the stress of earlier today.

The jump guy through the service I called wasn’t cheap, but he gave me his card for his towing co. so I could contact him directly once the new alternator is ready. I called a couple of local mechanics, and one said they could see me next Tuesday.
I’ve already made the towing appntmnt. and who knows how much the new alt. will cost, plus my car’s overdue for an oil change anyway & I’m sure there’s other maintenance that needs to be done.

So I canceled Monkey’s vet appointment, cuz I just do not have that much “float” money, which does not make me a happy camper.

All this started last night cuz I was gonna go get more rat food. Since that was off the, ahem, menu, I baked some “dead” dough towards the end of the shift tonight to bring home to them. It would’ve been tossed out anyway, and I added no toppings (essentially baking a couple of very large crackers) so it didn’t cost the restaurant anything.

Will probably do the same the next couple of nights; they’re nearly out of all their other regular food.

Alright, my noodles are done, and yes, imma eat them straight outta the pot I cooked 'em in, using the spatula I stirred them with.
Cuz I classy like that!

I was expecting you to say yes, but I thought I’d ask anyway. My sister-in-law loses power quite often. And her two generators do her no good because of lack of maintenance and not being connected.

If you have cell service at home, that is probably enough for casual use, and you already know that.

Train’s almost at the office.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 95 and N.O.S. I shall smoke some ribs today cause it’s Labor Day weekend and that is what one does. Plus, JDD and Partner are comin’ over to hang tomorrow and ribs were promised. Other than that, I foresee quality cee-mint pond time, nappage, and day drinkin’. Other than maybe needin’ a few more wood chips in the smoker, all the ribs need to do is hang out in the smoker for a few hours. Sup shall be hoagies and chips cause the urge to actually cook is not present.

Buddy has a vet appointment this morning (routine PCV check after his steroid dosage was lowered). Other than that, just gotta sort out tomorrow’s roaming. DH wants to do Sonora Pass (the second-highest elevation we can reach in a day), so I want to make sure we’re well supplied, weather forecasts have been checked, etc.

There is one higher elevation that can be reached on a day trip, but it’s only about a 300-foot difference, and Tioga Pass is in Yosemite National Park, so on a weekend or holiday, we’d have to hassle with reservations and other bureaucracy that DH doesn’t want to mess with. I do seem to have an unusual amount of sensitivity to altitude, but based on research I’ve done recently, should be OK to be that high up for only a short time. I’ll just be a bit lacking in energy and feel like there’s not quite enough air in the air.
