I adjusted things in my ping pong ball machine and it is working well. Still too loud, but I have a new blower motor coming that claims to be only 49 dB, instead of the 70+ I’ve got now. But the game play is good, I predict a long dwell time for visitors to the exhibit. And I made it shorter and cuter. **FCM** Hope the recovery from the fall goes quick. Enjoy the orange. 'Tis currently 10 ferrets and we are predicted for all of them to run away over night. Maybe some negative ferrets, the worst kind of ferrets. Ms Peach does not like the cold and snow, but not as much as she hates rain. She’s decided that peeing under the picnic table is the best spot. I suppose if I had to go in the snow I’d find the spot with the least snow also, 'spcially if’n my parts were that close to the cold. Current excitement, the across the street neighbor are having their septic tank pumped. 6 PM on a Thursday? Must be bad. I haven’t met these neighbors yet, they moved in about a year ago and promptly painted the house black with white trim and cut down a ton of lovely lilac bushes. So I’m not a big fan. I’m soon to institute an office fridge cleanout. It’s pissing me off how much stuff is in there that could qualify for social security. It feels a little weird doing this, I haven’t been there a year yet. Maybe it’ll be the kick in the pants needed. ---

I got some groceries. I havent been making it to the free dinners; not because weather, but most sidewalks aren’t walkable. Supposed to be 1 degree tonight. Doesnt look like it will get above freezing til March. Abnormal. I got some library books, including 107 Days, Kamala’s book, Impolite Interviews by Krassner, new one by Wilmer Valderama. ---

And a good early evening. Back from the gym, all the clothes have been properly stowed and Cheese dogs and carrots have assuaged my hunger. Also bought a couple of “Protein Bars” at the gym, they taste…ok, but advertise 21grams of Protein each, so I figure that is good for an exercising body. It’s still above freezing (barely–35F). Evening shall be internetting and other slothful activities. **flipper** , sounds like a pretty well-developed fantasy story, may keep an eye on Cafe Society for your post(s). And nothing says Happy Birthday like McDonalds… 😉 😄 And sneakers going to a shoe repairman; I don’t think I have ever heard of that. **Nettie** , I revolve from Pepsi Zero to Diet Pepsi, so might do the same with Root Beer if I get into it. **FCM** , I play Spider Solitaire on my computer (25,000+ games and counting) and see ads all the time, which I routinely ignore. Lot of the games they advertise are “put three things in a row/column” or ads about how to get money by just clicking here (I don’t). **Lily** , cat is saying: “nothing is better for thee than me.” **Van Go** , glad your contraption is working, need pictures once it is installed in the museum. **Coppertone** , enjoy the reading and stay warm! And that’s all for the moment, back for the late night final if I remember that far into the future… ---

Howdy Y’all! RDOS sloth continued through the afternoon. Sup was very good. I do love me a baked sweet N.O.T. I like to use a chunk of butter and do one weird thing ; sprinkle on some black pepper. I know, weird, but I like the taste. I had a realization this afternoon. Come June sixth, I will have been grajooated from kolledge fifty years ago. Up from naptime having a Jungle Bird(because nothing says “tiki” like a bitter Italian liquor) and watching hockey. Dinner is Smoked Paprika chicken, cheesy potato rounds, and spinach with bacon and tomatoes. An early late night final but I have things to do. The Verizon internet was ok this morning but the evening was slow and when I ran a couple speed checks it was showing 1.2 MBPS for both upload and download, which according to Goggle is in the ‘pitiful’ range. So after this I will try to re-hook my AT&T box and take the Verizon stuff back to the store tomorrow. **Coppertone** , great news. **swampy** , I graduated in June 1975 so it’s 51 years for me, can’t remember the actual date and won’t be digging around for it. And time to pretend I know where the wires go. See you all tomorrow (I hope). ---

Verizon tends to be home internet more often than commercial, so evenings are when it tends to be used most. You do have a good password on yours, don’t you? ---

Kasya seems to have a grudge against Kleenex. At least several times a day, I have to take it away from her while she’s shredding away. Makes having a streaming cold even worse, somehow, having to defend the Kleenex box from the kitten. BTW, “Thin Mint” PopTarts are highly disappointing. Very little actual flavor. Raspberry PopTarts I ate earlier tasted fine, so I don’t think it’s just my cold. ---

Continuing the N.O.T. theme of the evening, my lovely wife made her delicious sweet potato and pomegranate enchiladas. I finished the 2nd draft of chapter 11/14 and then enjoyed a short but very hot bath with no oil or salts and a book of local poetry, until my glasses fogged. I don’t mind showers, but they don’t do what I need musculoskeletally when I’m writing a lot. ---

Mom, @EllieNeo , and I went to see _Hamnet_ in theaters for Ellie’s birthday, and I say without exaggerating that it’s the best film of the 21st century, at least among the limited number that I’ve seen. If you want the best possible experience, like I did, go in knowing as little as possible. I didn’t know anything about the plot of the movie at all, and I was better off for it. The film is deeply moving. ---
