# Old Navy commercials

Old Navy commercials are full of the Brady Bunch quotient. It’s like children’s books version of reality. It spins a simple, short, visually exiting yarn. Like cats that instinctively run after small rodent-y, scurrying things, we are hard wired to the happy, happy primary colored world of Old Navy.

It’s like a Teletubby show: simple, larger-than-life characters; primary colors; silly actions; assuring, parental tones; and lots of repitition.

(Oh, and some sexual attractive models, too. That always helps.)

yeah, those old navy commercials are definitely the worst but they do their job of attracting the pissed-off and the hypnotized youth. on another note, damn lisa ling is hot.

I, too, have sworn never to darken the doors of an Old Navy because of those commericals. In fact, a rant of mine about the commericals was printed in the local alternative paper (hey, it’s the same one that carried Unca Cecil’s column! I’ve shared newprint with Cecil!) This self-imposed exhile from the realms of Carrie Donnovan has been easier by the fact that there is not an Old Navy in the state of Vermont. Yet. However, when my roommate walked in with a bag of clothes she had bought there, for insanely low prices, my resolve dropped a bit. Who knows, I might break my own embargo.
