Once, just for kicks, I looked on several sites at our house and the variations in price really surprised me. Tho I’m sure that won’t cheer up Hubs… Today has started at 72° - the warmest morning so far this year. I’ve run the sprinkler in the yard - part was crunchy when I walked across it yesterday and it should stay coolish enough for the water to sink in. I’m not a lawn fanatic, but I do prefer to have green rather than dirt, and I don’t care if the green is grass, clover, or short weeds. Anyway. parts of the back yard are getting a drink this morning. Our boat was moved yesterday and **FCD** got it plugged in so the batteries can charge. He figured out that when the other boatyard crew did the winterizing, the borked up the pump to the a/c units, so no a/c on the boat at present. Dammit. Something else to be fixed. Apart from Trevor’s visit, I don’t know what’s on today’s agenda. We’ll make it up as we go along. Happy Saturday! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 95 and N.O.S. for the day. JDD and Partner are comin’ over in a while for quality cee-mint pond time and general overall silliness. We shall grill steaks and have sallit, friggin’ good N.O.T., and cheesey garlic bread for the main need to feed of the day. 'Twill be a fun day. Oh and we have local watermelon! YUM! I have read all, but at the moment lack the brain power to respond, so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how _you_ doin’s all around, as needed. Mornin’ all - It’s a bit after 7am as I start a brief drivel. I awoke early while somebody slumbered on; she’s been rode hard and put away wet for a couple days now, and needs her sleep. I slipped into clothes, snuck out of the room and settled at the outdoor seating of **[European Style Cafe | Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar](https://www.cremagourmet.com/)** adjacent to the hotel. They later opened so I’m caffinatin’ in the now post-dawn warmth. We’ve enjoyed a fine time together. The … aaahh … reunioning … began promptly after we drove out of sight of her sweet family. We avoided both mishap and arrest all the way to the room. Always a good thing. The concert we attended was by these promoters, and I heartily recommend the experience if you’re near one of cities where they’re active. **[🎻 Candlelight Concerts in Miami Tickets 2024 | Fever (feverup.com)](https://feverup.com/en/miami/candlelight)**. It was a chamber music group: 2 violins, 1 viola, and a cello with no vocalist doing about 15 of Whiney Houston’s biggest hits. It was a bit odd, but very magic. The crowd of ~200 people were mostly romantically inclined couples and the crowd energy was amazing. Like a Valentine’s day dinner, but without the schmaltz; You could tell a whole lotta folks were going to finish their night hot and sweaty and happy. But first we had to eat. We had … reunioned … right through the time to get showered and dressed for the reservations I’d made, so we had to replan for something quicker and “settled” for these folks **[Baires Grill - Coral Gables](https://www.bairesgrill.com/coral-gables/)** who are a small local chain who have a branch in our hotel’s building. So no wasted time walking or ubering. They’re great; I’ve eaten at some of their other locations. We shared a _parrillada_ and all was well with the schedule. Then back upstairs to bed and eventually to sleep. Gotta run: someone just called; she’s now awake and dying, dying I tell you, of loneliness. Tee hee 😉 Happy Saturday to all!! ---

I’ve never tried your weight loss exercise program and aerobics, **Pilot** , but it sure does come highly recommended… Up and for once not in a rush, the WW2 Museum doesn’t open until 9am so have time to converse. Slept well and hotel was quiet, so plus marks there. Am wearing cargo shorts for the first time in quite a while (my blue jean shorts will get used later) so at least I should be more comfortable in the heat. Might dig out my Garmin, the route down to the N. Orleans battlefield is a bit tricky, so having that will help. **Cat Glove** , your coupon prowess is outstanding, I use them (digital) but never to as great an effect as you. And I may or may not do the French Quarter, been there once or twice before. And have left my car windows open before, so glad I have a garage now. **Hippie** , nice quilt and the owner is looking well too. **Sari** , 4 hour naps are not nappage, that is sleepage. Hope you get caught up and re-adjusted. **Nellie** , happy parading with Ms. Dog. **JtC** , hope GG gets adjusted soon. Trains can be loud and squeaky. Do you want to bring in another cat now or let him get more settled before adding another complication to his life? And hope Hubs is home this morning. And a highly praised Museum in Boise? I do know of one outside of Colorado Springs that I love and few know about (Western Museum of Mining and Industry-- [Western Museum of Mining and Industry–[https://wmmi.org/](https://wmmi.org/). Just looked at Zillow for my place and it’s $277,500! That seems outrageous to me, but at least I’ll have some money for my dotage… OK, everybody have a good Sattiday (this is Saturday, isn’t it? Well, the little a-hole doggy that I know and love is back for the most part. He licked my face awake ~0630 and was being all lively. He only spent a little while sleeping on my chest before moving to his usual locations by my right hip or at my feet. It’s so good to have him feeling better. While I was out watering the maters, the rhubarb caught my attention so I looked up my cache of blueberry rhubarb recipes then looked online for a new one. I still have about 1/4 of my dutch blueberry pie left so maybe I’ll just make a rhubarb sauce to go with the pork loin chops tonight. Yay, it’s Saturday with no deadlines or expectations. ---

A couple of busy days with not much time for Mumping. Lots of activity here; I’ve read and skimmed intermittently. The usual yays, boos, etc. to all. On Thursday, my traveling companion (from this point forward to be known as TC) and I enjoyed our visit to the White Sox stadium. Neither of us had been there in many years, and they’ve made a lot of successful upgrades to the place. An excellent fan experience, even if the product on the field is currently terrible. Post-game, we imbibed for a bit at a couple neighborhood watering holes, then caught a train up to Old Town for dinner (a quite good tavern-style pizza) and more drinking - but not too much more, as it turned out. We were both dragging our butts by the end of the night. Did about as much walking as we had on Wednesday, but the weather was much cooler, so the walking was easier. Yesterday we left the city proper and headed to Rosemont, where there is an independent-league team called the Chicago Dogs (as in Hot Dogs). On the way, we stopped at my younger brother’s house for a visit and subsequent lunch at an excellent burger joint that TC used to frequent when he lived near there. My brother joined us at the game, as did TC’s brother. A nice new-ish ballpark, fun game, and good conversation among the two sets of bros. A fine time was had by all. Today we are sliding down to Joliet for the next adventure. Talk to ya later! ---

Trevor most definitely is a lover! Both my forearms were well-slobbered upon. Higgs barked at him, but he didn’t seem to care. He ran around the yard and peed on some plants. He chased his little football and generally seemed to have a good doggy time. **FCD** has been futzing on the boat. MIL seems to have fallen asleep while listening to her audio book. I’m trying to read but I keep dozing. I did decide that we’re going to have deli fried chicken for supper. So goes my day… ---

I posted months and months ago about seeing an ambulance take a neighbour away. Mrs. L.A. saw a bunch of cars in front of her house. I got nosy. The entire front yard was a vegetable garden. They’re tearing it up. The guy I approached turned out to be her brother. He said she died about a week ago. ---

Everbody in Smalls showed up today. Which was good, because I had to do the 100 and 200 slides. And clean up the PM clerks’ mess at the front. And help clean up the 300 Slide. And rescan some iiregs on the 100 North. And dump the Blue 128 missorts back on the belt. Next CBA I’m holding out for in building mileage. 😃 But I came home, showered, threw the laundry in, and had a gin&tonic with my bacon and eggs. Am enjoying a hamburger at the American Sector at the WW II museum. Definitely worth the visit it’s very complete and compelling, it is also expensive (I am finding out again that big cities are pricey propositions). Cheers to all and I’ll be back in touch this evening. ---

I keep the a/c at 76° ‐ not too cold, I think. MIL is in long corduroy pants, knee socks, a fleece shirt, covered by an afghan… eating ice. And if you ask, she’ll say she’s cold. Um, could it be the ice? Her personal comfort aside, what an awful thing to have to listen to! _Crunch crunch crunch_ over and over. If it was just a tad cooler out (it’s 94°) I would be outside pulling weeds.
