Old people don't like to eat al fresco?

Gag, indeed!

We live in Carefree (yeah, it really is!). It may not have existed when you were in Tucson. It’s north of Scottsdale, up in the foothills at 2600 ft elevation.

Oh, re the controversy, we also enjoy eating outdoors at seashore places, but will admit that the damn seagulls can be a royal pain, trying to steal your food. Adds to the excitement for me. Batting away flies is nothing compared to shooing seagulls. Fortunately, never encountered a condor!

This is another instance where the old places in the French Quarter have it right - their outdoor dining is in enclosed patios, which the building has been built around. No traffic or passers-by, minimal effect from the weather, except for rain, and the best damn food you’ll ever eat! it’s the only place I like to eat outdoors.

Hit the nail right on the head.

That’s why we invented walls.

Yeesh! Really? Can you name any SF restaurants at which I oughtn’t to eat en terrasse?

When nine hundred years you reach, eat at Luby’s, you will, too, hmph!

It’s a trap!
