# Old periodicals

Or, tell me it’s OK to throw these out.

When I bought my house, I found 3 issues of [Guideposts](http://www.guideposts.org/) from 1960. I don’t even remember where I found them, but I remember thinking, “Huh, these are 50 years old.” And I threw them in a drawer, which I just cleaned out a few minutes ago.

Someone just tell me it’s OK to recycle these. I know it’s the right thing to do, but I have a hard time chucking things that are older than me.

Look them up at eBay–especially note the completed sales.

I think they are worthless. I suggest you donate them.

Hmm, looks like they could be worth as much as 1 dollar to the right buyer.

Yeah, it’s okay to throw 'em out. And, yeah, it bugs me, too!

A friend, just today, offered me a whole bunch of old fanzines. I hesitated long and long, before I had to say, in dull pragmatism, no. I don’t have a place to keep them, and I don’t have the time to read them.

Sometimes, you just have to let go.

(I’m about to take a big box of books to donate to the library. So it goes.)
