Mac and Cheese should be finished before I complete this message (yep, now we’ll see if I can finish it before talking to everyone). **wet one** , Ouch! Hope it was nothing serious. Reading ahead, and while a sprain is bad, at least it’s not broken. **boo fae** , that looks great! **{{Sari}}**. hope work becomes less of a pain for you. A day off can do wonders sometimes. **FCM** , hear ya on the eye exams; interesting that I can get my teeth checked twice a year but the eyes only get one visit a year; the joys of insurance. **Sticky Buns** , hope you get the cash you earned from them. **liirogue, enipla, Nyvaak** , welcome and make yourselves at home here; we’ve had a couple of posters take a break so newbies and their stories are most welcome. > [@missred](#): > > Do you have to hide it in a piece of cheese? Jolene is going to the vet on Thursday. She has a ticklish belly so I don’t have hands on it often. A couple of days ago, GG was washing her belly and I thought she looked not right. I got my hand in there and she has fluid sacks, not fat, around her incision from her second spay. Once I realized something was wrong, we were able to feel fluid going up her side. She’s still eating, peeing and pooping. She kicked GG’s butt an hour ago and is sleeping on top of him now so she doesn’t seem to be in pain. This really sucks. OTOH, our new windows do not suck, they are wonderful. Of course, the window I really wanted replaced arrived damaged and another one is scuffed, but I can feel the temp difference already. I used to be able to tell what room I was in just by the drafts. The fuzzbutts weren’t happy, GG put himself under my desk to hide from the noise and Jolene lost her mind because all the people were walking in and out of the house and she wasn’t there. Scared me into getting my Tdap shot early, I sure hope your son doesn’t suffer like those ladies did. ---

It’s a blessing that she eased out of this life without pain, but the finality after so much time contemplating it can be oddly hard to grasp. I wish you and FCD peace. Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 4c/38f with a predicted high of 5c/42f, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Who cares about the fucking weather? When was the last time you had some fibre? I also have to return a gift as the supplier sent the wrong one - it’s a cat mug but the wording isn’t the one I wanted, it would still amuse the person I am giving it to but it won’t be as amusing as the one I ordered. Fortunately the seller is sending a replacement but now I have to faff about sending the other one back. 'im indoors made dinner so I did get a little bit of sofa time with Shadow which was nice. Today was more of the usual travel trauma as I’m back on campus. This time the bus didn’t show up, the train I wanted was on time but two carriages shorter than usual so quite busy, and the train from Big City Station to campus was running very late (I think they still have damage on the line from downed trees and power cables) so I had to get the bus instead which was a miserable experience. But I am here, I’ve printed out a returns label for the package and stuck it down firmly. I now also have to invigilate an exam this morning as the academic who was doing it is off sick and we don’t have anyone else available. On the plus side, it means I get an hour of peace and quiet with a good book. Pub night tonight with my friends, their car is in the garage waiting for a repair to a slipping clutch so they will either have the car back by tonight or we’ll get ourselves into town by bus. More travel adventures! ---
