I just realized my washing machine is agitating to the same beat as “The Twist” by Chubby Checkers. Seems appropriate. Today marks the beginning of my massive, ruthless Chuck It program in preparation for moving. I know it’s months away, but this needs doing anyway. That tube of peppermint foot lotion a friend gifted me? I used in once in 3 years. Gone. Ditto the lipstick I never wear because doing so would scare small children. I may not know where I’m going, but by golly, I’m traveling light(er). **Scudsucker** , that’s awful that the cops wouldn’t do anything. Homeless people, on the other hand, can be VERY helpful toward others. An acquaintance’s wheelchair somehow caught on a manhole cover, tipping her out. (She was unhurt.) Three homeless men ran up. One stopped traffic. Two lifted her up and into the chair. She asked one to get something from her purse, He said, “No, ma’am, but I’ll bring it to you.” He didn’t want to be suspected if something was missing. She had no money to give them. They didn’t ask for any. **WetOne** , I hope whatever it is is minor and departs soon. **Sticky** , _you’ve never had a Shirley Temple_? You poor thing! The ones I had as a kid and gave my own kids on special occasions, was ginger ale or 7-Up with maraschino cherry juice and a long-stemmed maraschino cherry It’s more about looks than taste. I think it was supposed to be like a kiddie cocktail. I’ve never had a Roy Rogers, which was supposedly the boys’ alternative to an ST, I guess because ST’s are pink. The Roy Rogers is made with cola. **red** , how does Nelson do in the rain? One of my son’s dogs refuses to go out in it. (She’s a rescue from Texas.) Supper has been ingested, **FCD** is doing the dishes, and I have half a row to finish then the latest blanket will be done. I’m dragging - I hope I can sleep tonight. While **FCD** takes his mom to church tomorrow, I’ll run the mower in the yard to chop up leaves. There aren’t many… yet… Not much grass either. That’s all. Off to finish the blanket. ---

Howdy Y’all! Mowage got accomplished and after a shower followed by a beerverage, nappage was accomplished. OYKW developed a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for a Jack’s burger. So he got his burger and I got a chikin sammich. Thus no pizza. Been watchin’ tackleball as well. **Boo’s** Huskers almost pulled off a big upset. There is much to be proud about Big Red today. **MOOOOOM** glad you survived the sleepover. **Cookie** glad the pancake experiment went well. **Oopsie** you’ve put a lot more work into a rental place than I ever would. Hope your landlord appreciates that. **nellie** have you been dancin’ with the washer again? Glad Ms. Dog and you had a good time. I need to do another get rid of junk. ---

I’m looking at a wild time of get togethers and social things. My introvert self is wondering how this has happened. Last night was a friday Halloween style at the condo. I attended briefly. Wore a crayola thing, cerulean shirt and crayon point hat. Today was baby meeting. She is a cutie. Interesting conversations. On the way to the baby meet, met my new neighbour’s wee kitten. Cute little fella mostly white with a bit of dark grey. Tomorrow is dinner with former colleagues. Then Halloween party at the office on weds. Cheetah outfit for that day. Trick or treating at the condo on Thursday. I have scooby doo planned for that. Klackity and I went on the shopping trip. I tried a different routine. Usually I go from Micheal’s to homegoods/tj maxx to acme to target. This time I switched and instead of acme and target, I got lunch at chic fil a, then five below, to ShopRite. It took 20-25 minutes to get from five below to ShopRite. I shall have to try a different route. I believe I took the long way about. It may be better to go diagonal through a bit of the neighbourhood. This would take me past federal chicken and doughnuts… that might be a good take away. Decisions, decisions. ---

Good Evening all. Soccer is complete for the day, the kids won the first two games (u9’s won 2-0 and the U10 5-0), then the U9’s had a second game (it’s a tournament) and lost 0-2 so our game tomorrow is ‘win or go home’ time. To relax them I’ll let them paint my beard (it’s become a custom every season) before the game. Weather was perfect, even got some cloud cover when the sun started getting hot, so great day to be outside. Was a bit frustrated after the loss, so burnt some calories at the gym rather than sit around the house and snack, so the Fettuccine dinner didn’t hurt my calorie intake too much. Tired and will probably head off to bed fairly early. **swampy** , I see mowage went well. And a Bigger Jack is now on my menu for Moanday… **wet one** , hope you feel better soon. **red** , no rain down here; we could probably use some. **FCM** , that’s one of my favorite movies. Those boys did us proud, they hung in there the whole game, even were ahead for a little while, which shocked the Ohio stadium. Scrapping til the end, losing by only 4 points when all week the pundits were predicting a humiliating rout of 40-50 points. No one was more surprised than Ohio, I bet they were glad to see the last of our beefy defensive line. Here’s hoping the Dawgs are getting rested up for the Gators and the Wolfpack for Stanford. The Chiefs play Los Vegas tomorrow but I care much less about those games. I’m enjoying the mumpers enjoying the World Serious even though I don’t follow baseball. ---

Change garage to basement and ya got me. * * * Work was smooth today. There was a Mich-Mich State game so there was a decent pregame/dinner bustle but nothing we couldn’t handle, even if one of the girls did call out sick. I was a bit late Friday and explained to **S.M.** that Thursday had, in her absence, gone like hell and that I was anxious about going in. She took me outside to a private spot when she was heading out last night, and I tried to keep it professional but kinda poured my heart out. I felt bad - I basically threw everyone I worked with on Thursday under the bus - but she explained that she needs to know these situations so she can address them. Rationally, I _know_ that. But I still felt bad about sitting there saying, "… and she kept doing _THIS_ so he kept messing up _THAT_ oh, and another thing, get this … " … but it felt good to vent, too.
