Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/43f and cloudy. Weather app says “Outside, the clouds are all acting like pig fuckers. What a bunch of fucking assholes.” That sounds about right, just because we’ve had rain, sleet and hail today. Now it’s sunny! Roxy has already asked if she can help me plant cucumbers. I’ll have seedlings, and I’ll let her plant some seeds also. Once I get the sheets back on the guest bed, I’ll vacuum the basement firebox. I doubt I’ll have any more fires down there this year. I also pulled six expired COVID test kits from the closet and tossed them. Yay for more space for meds! And that’s my morning excitement as of 9:20. ---

**JtC** Nice stitching! **sticky buns** What is your medium? Glass beads? Very pretty, regardless. **pilot** You are so right about the smell of second hand ciggie smoke. When I smell that now I can believe I spent so many years subjecting other people to it. Here’s my prototype. Obviously this is just a proof of concept. The real ones will have nice joints and finish. I think I’ll make it a little skinnier too, this one is a bit hard to hold and point at the sun. Thinking the text will go on the panel above the viewing port. Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels and a dog bed in the dryer, jeans and the rest of the doggy gear in the wash. I’ll do a special load of laundry tomorrow for doggy toys and bathe the small beast for a total dog cleanup weekend. The apartment is about half cleaneded up and I’m fixing to make the menu / grocery list shortly. Other than grocery shopping, working on the wedding album is the sum of my plans this weekend. Went to exercise this morning. Toward the end I got hit with an optical migraine in both eyes, which has not happened before. Went back to the apartment and lay down in a darkened room until it subsided, but there still seems to be some vestigial activity. Probably caused by the bright lights in the room and the bright sunlight coming in from the side windows. The usual low level headache follows. We did finally have the [hot dogs](https://www.nueskemeats.com/applewood-smoked-wieners-1-lb-retail-pack/) and orzo last night. I cut the dogs into half-inch medallions and browned them in a bit of oil. Tossed the orzo with butter and mixed in the dogs. It was surprisingly good. ---

The regular heaving was fine. Shaggy got sent to the 300 Sort Aisle. Of course when he came back he was bitching about people not doing their jobs. 🤔 Admittedly, around here it’s like that one interview with Pope John XXIII: Reporter: “How many people work in the Vatican?” Pope: “About half.” Then I had to help load. 4 pacakge cars. So I got hours and cardio. I got laundry in the washer, Spot helped me sort the loads. Have shopped, returned a bunch of plastic bags for recycling, scheduled my car for an oil change on Monday, mailed a letter and fixed some lunch, and topped it off by organizing a spreadsheet for the local soccer league and sending it out, so I been acting like a (semi-)responsible adult here. About an hour from now I’ll head over to the gym, have gotten two days in this week with 2,200 yards (1 1/4 miles) done each day, will try for 3 out of 3 for the week. Still cold (45F _ **is** _ cold in N. Ali-bama) and wet, so no other reason to be out. **Swampy** will be pleased that I picked up some terlet paper so by my count I now have 79 rolls available, which as long as dysentery doesn’t occur, should be adequate until well into the summer. Am also thinking seriously about summer vacation, there are two possible trips that are in my head, one focusing on AMTRAK rides and the other on rollercoasters, haven’t figured out how to combine them yet, but I’ll give it some more thought… **boo fae** , enjoy your weekend of sloth! **Swampy** and I can provide pointers if you need them… **VanGo** , nice work, but you need to finalize them soon with the eclipse due in less than 5 weeks. **Cookie** , ouch on the migrane, hope it subsides. MIL got a visit from the OT today, and I think she put the fear of God in her. She said if MIL won’t call us when she has to get up at night, then we need to put an alarm on her bed. Well, MIL had an alarmed bed in the hospital and she hated it. So there’s that. Plus we told her flat out that when we’re jolted out of sleep because she’s fallen, it takes us hours to calm down and get back to sleep (or in my case, no sleep at all.) So we shall see if she’ll listen. Also the therapist told her unless she improves a lot, there’s no way she can live alone again. I know she hates that idea. And I think she realizes that it’ll never happen. She’s had a hellacious year or so, and this is the poop frosting on the crap cake. **FCD** went to the dentist and they had to send him to another one for a special xray to figure out what’s going on with one of his back teeth. At least they confirmed there’s no infection. He’s gone now for the consult. I’ve finished my chores so maybe I’ll try to doze in my recliner. I’m thinking I’ll have to sleep with Mel tonight - I can’t go on with just 3 or 4 hours of sleep. On the plus side, we’ve got some nice days ahead, and if the long range forecast is to be believed, it won’t freeze at night any more. I’ll give it another coupla weeks, then move my spider plants outside. And I’ve got some yard work plans for the weekend. Fingers crossed that I can get started out there. ---

It’s happening. I’m not feeling so well. General malaise on and off all day. Looks like I caught the ick 😫 on my birthday weekend. Man. We are supposed to get steak Sunday. And I was looking forward to returning to the zendo. And we had plans tomorrow to see my husband’s Aunt who hasn’t even met our son yet. I don’t think I even have it in me to cook dinner tonight. Going to get the kiddo from the bus and let’s be honest plop him in front of YouTube. His current obsession is watching fan made number blocks videos made in Minecraft, pertaining to the numbers googol and googolplex. So I guess that’s educational? I just feel like ass. Be husband slept the entire day yesterday which means he was _really_ sick. He’s up and around today. So far I’ve been puttering around at home getting some stuff done. There are some insanely creative people on the Dope. **JaneDoe** , that is a stunning quilt. **Wheelz** , congrats on the addition to the family - she is absolutely beautiful. I love the way she’s looking at the camera like, “What’re you looking at?” Today has been stupid and full of work-related fires. I’m supposed to be off Monday, but have no doubt I’ll be sucked right back in, so I haven’t bothered to submit for PTO, and my boss hasn’t bothered to ask. Smart woman. I broke my brain earlier trying to think through a work problem, so I’m here, yelling absolutely nothing of any value into the Internet. The weather is supposed to be beautiful here, too, for the weekend - I can’t wait. I just want to clean off my back patio furniture and sit outside with my coffee. ---
