How cool is that?!? 😁 Aaaand the bastids got me. Off to irk. Sigh. Was having brunch at a Mom’n’Pop café near the beach with Her Ladyship when the Dreaded Phone Call arrived. She was enjoying her breakfast tacos and mimosas while I was munching a patty melt with too much ketchup and too many onions (AKA almost enough of both), a salad, and a coffee. We finished our meal in the normal pace then walked home in the noontime heat & blazing sun. She’s wilting; I’m exulting. Once home she collapses in her chair to cool off & I mop out my pits, change clothes, freezing in the blasting HVAC while half-dressed, prep my toys, and leave. Don’t quite have the reaction time to take the train, so forced to drive. And to pay for parking. Oh bother. The parking apps for the parking lots I use foretold a near capacity crowd, so I was a bit worried about parking. Rain between home and MIA portended a slow commute despite the lighter Sun afternoon traffic. So I left a bit earlier than I might otherwise, to forestall a problem. In the event, both proved speedy and painless. Si I had an extra ~30 minutes to kill at the gate in addition to all the time wasting inherent in the job. Today is easy, just ride up to Cincinnati = CVG. I’m sitting in the back awaiting departure as I write. I have no idea what went wrong, but I’ll be meeting my FO up there. He was in the middle of 4 days of work and was shanghaied somehow to end riding there too from someplace else. It’ll be “fun” to compare notes on how that happened. Anyhow, we’ll be together for real work all day Mon & early Tue then quit and go home noonish on Tue. I might meet him tonight, or might not until it’s time to leave the hotel together tomorrow around sunrise. I had the good fortune to get a good seat: bulkhead window. Only thing better is bulkhead aisle or first/business class. Even seats this good rarely happen when the reservation is made \< 4 hours before departure. Crappy seat assignments are one of the sad side effects of being the crew-janitor sweeping up the pieces of other folks’ shattered work schedules. Oh well. A ~35yo woman who is totally the now-grown up Girl from Ipanema is sitting next to me while falling out of her jungle print _very_ short romper. I saw her with a guy in the terminal, but he’s seated elsewhere. Sux to be him, at least for this ~2 hours. I’m gonna bet the rest of his life is going very nicely. Lotta sighing and samba-ing while she goes by. Or hangs around. Or sits. Or … 😁 I didn’t realize this before I lived down here, but I now think Brazilians are probably the most attractive humans of either gender. A really great mix of many of the various flavors humans come in. ---

I forgot to tell this yesterday. I mentioned there were 3 Proud Boys at the Pride parade. Two of them arrived, and then another one came in on the other side of the parade. The first two walked over and escorted him through the marchers. Apparently they found several hundred marchers wearing rainbows and striking poses while singing along to “Vogue” while striking poses really scary. Maybe they were afraid he’d come out on the other side, and I do mean “come out.” Anyway, still chillin’ the knee nonstop. Laundry is chasing itself in the dryer, and in a minute, I’ll Igor my way outside to water the plants. Happy Birthday to **VanGogh**! 🎂 🎁 🍾 **red** , so sorry I got you confused! I’ve never had entrail-related surgery so cannot comment on that. For my three colonoscopies IIRC the prep regimen was no bright red food or spicy food for the day prior or the dinner of the day prior to that. So ~36 hours before the procedure. On day prior, eat normally for breakfast then fast thereafter. Get serious with the laxatives in mid-afternoon so you’ll be both a) empty, and b) done pooping uncontrollably, by bedtime. Fast that evening and into the morning, then show up for the procedure. I was good and hungry afterwards, but really only skipped 3 consecutive meals and the big one I ate before starting covered for one of those. IIRC. It does seem from the perennial [Ask / Tell Me About Colonoscopy] threads over the decades here that various medical practices have wildly different ideas of what constitutes adequate prep. Now that substantially no Dopers are young enough not to have had the experience themselves already ☹, I predict these sorts of threads will become few and far between. ---

Good afternoon all. Typing this from my home computer, soccer refereed this morning (in the rain), then changed from my Super-Ref costume to my Clark Kent clothes and had dinner as soon as Olive Garden opened, then 3.5 hours of driving to get home. Have unpacked and more or less organized myself, so time to catch my breath and catch up on stuff. Hot here (87F) but rain is almost assured between 6-10pm and that should cool us down some. For doing 9 games in what amounted to 50 hours I feel pretty good, no major aches and still quite awake and aware (albeit I slept real good Friday and Saturday night). **FCM** , **FCD** and family forgetting to tell you would have aggravated me no end. I went out for my 3.1-mile walk today. I decided to keep walking to the C-Shop, 1.82 miles from the house. Why not walk a little farther to the two-mile point? That way I will have walked four miles when I got home. Well… I’ve gone this far. May as well walk to where the houses stop. OK. But the gate to the State Park is just up the road. I’ll turn around there. When I got to the gate, I could see the building and playground. I can’t turn around now! Besides… **C6H12O6 + 6O2→ 6CO2 + 6H2O + Energy**. I should probably hit up the urination station to offload the H2O. So my three-mile walk turned into a six and a quarter-mile walk. Now that I know I can do it, I don’t need to again. For a while, anyway. ---

I took a long walk. I took a short shower(hiking in the woods in June is sweaty). I did a load of laundry. Naptime before cocktails. And I enjoy wiggly water. It’s extra fun when the they do an upper & lower at the same time and the alien probes meet in the middle to shake appendages and swap mystery fluids. The wheels are falling of my work already and I haven’t really begun. The weather is craptacular in much of the Midwest and although I’m at the hotel a bit late my poor FO coming from elsewhere will get here very late. So we’re going to delay tomorrow’s work start enough so the poor dude gets the required sleep. Which will cascade through the day for us and our customers. Oh well; at least it isn’t wildfires. It’s floods. ---

Happy Sunday! Happy Birthday **VanGo** Cool morning at the park, but it heated up quickly. It’s nice and breezy outside, it would be even nicer if the people next door could take a day off from hammering, and drilling, and sawing, and whatever else TF they are doing over there. I’m being lazy, again, but we have gotten quite a bit done this weekend. I made a list and we may actually get everything done by tomorrow night. Some of it can’t be done until tomorrow since phone calls to businesses are on the list. If I could walk without pain, I think everything but those calls would be done. That and the laundry, because I have big things to wash and I think we may have to go to a laundry mat for that. The puppies are making me crazy. They don’t want to sleep at night anymore. We’ll have to start playing with them to wear them out before bedtime. {{{ **Jane** }}} Okay, I wanted to say more, but I am going to bed. I hope the GR are tired, they were outside a lot today. ---

The only reason I stopped that was about 50 pounds of weight gain. **BooFae** , I’m regularly forgetting words, so that wasn’t a giveaway. The weight gain is something in trying so hard to avoid. I was in rybelsus for 18 months and lost 60 pounds. Now that insurance won’t let me take it, I’m already starting to gain weight back. (Hubby needs to have one yearly so I’ve gotten _very_ familiar with the procedures.) They are having you be on a low residue diet for several days before having to take the Jug of SuckTM. It’s supposed to make it easier to get everything out. Drinking the prep has also been switched from one time to two - taking half the day before and the other half six hours(?) before. Today’s been a bit of a day for me. I got my walk in with CtE this morning and, even though I wasn’t thinking I’d make it, I walked my two miles. Then I played a couple boats games with Hubby and BFF. I got a bit pissy at the last game because the cards were all against me. I ended up winning the game, but I was in such a mood that I want happy about it. I napped for a bit to get rid of a headache, woke up to beautiful rain storm. I was going to take my laptop out and work on the porch but the rain was blowing sideways. Now Hubby and I are sitting in the living room, watching the 11th Doctor from the beginning. I’m playing Any Pond in one of the games I’m in at the convention later this week and I want to get myself back in an Amy mindset. I still have a few things to do for the Con, particularly the games I’m running. I’m hoping to get to those done after storytime tomorrow. And now I’m getting back to watching The Doctor take on the Daleks. I hope everyone has a great night and I’ll see you all in the new MMP! ---
