Happy Monday! I’m about to head out for my annual physical, or as Medicare likes to call it, “wellness check.” Usually I bring in a list of minor complaints I’ve ben saving up, and the doc keeps reminding me Medicare doesn’t want him to hear about those things at a wellness check. Evening all. Swimming was swum and the Wendy’s double and fries were better than usual, so I’m in a good mood. Added a couple things to the list for tomorrow, need to do a Braunschweiger Run and probably run the dishwasher and also get my credit card payments in (they are due on the 21st, but I don’t take chances…). But tonight will probably be tackleball watching, either on the couch or on a treadmill at the gym, still haven’t decided yet. Did buy something at Wal-Mart I should have gotten long ago; a beard comb, it works a lot better than a hair comb and the beard definitely needed some brushing out. Also got some more casual shoes and a hearing aid cleaning kit (the tiny little brushes they sent home with me were much to easy to lose). Will wear a pair of the shoes to the gym (either tonight or tomorrow) and see how they feel. **Cookie** , hope the couple recover ok, falls and/or injuries in old age tend to be more damaging, IMHO. And what the heck were they dancing, the jitterbug? Actually, that is a bit of an indictment of the US health care system; and a deserved one, IMHO (will leave it there, not politicing in the MMP). And it’s 6:30pm now, applesauce has been consumed for a dessert (beats Cheez-its) and will decide soon if the gym is in my future or not. ---

Not being able to see a doctor because your employer won’t pay for health insurance is not a good look for what we pretend is a health care system. I have many words to say about that. So I almost didn’t swim today. I signed in and was faced with a sign that said No Hot Water. I’m far too precious to take a cold shower so I almost left. But…I was already there and inside the building, so I asked the reception lady when the hot water would come back on and she told me that it _was_ back on, she had just forgotten to take the sign down. I got the lane next to the teacher’s lane and said a few encouraging things to the child she was teaching when I was at that end of the pool. “Good job” for swimming with her face in the water and “Water up the nose? I hate it when that happens to me.” Not to be nice, but because I want to encourage the younger generations to grow up healthy and strong so they can work hard and fund my social security. I did a whole 700 yards today and that was a little too much for my hip, it was screaming by the time I got to the showers. When I was leaving the office person I had told about the fire alarm asked me to go back and point out which one it was because they have had other complaints about random alarms and want to keep track of which ones they are. He also scolded me for not leaving the building and walking around to the front door because I could have died in a fire for going back inside and walking through the middle of it while the alarm was still going off. I pretended to look contrite. I will share your kind words with George. He does look impressive when he’s not trying to eat an lemon tree leaf for the fourth time. It warmed up nicely this afternoon and I put Citria out to enjoy some sun. Brought her back in when the shade took the yard over and once again, Gormless George didn’t recognize her and put his mouth on a leaf. They must taste bitter, there are no holes in the leaves so just licking it makes him make a face. I’m keeping track to see how long it takes him to learn to not lick bitter tree. My **Other Shoe** taught me to put my hand out flat, palm forward, fingers & thumb all held together to form a firm defense. They can’t get their teeth around a flat surface, and that usually stops things. If kitteh tries to escalate, push backwards gently, or simply (gently) mush them to the ground by their scruff. Doc said I’m looking good. He calculated that I have a 5.4% chance of keeling over with a heart attack in the next 5 years. I also heard all about the vacation he and his wife took to Spain. He recommended I go. Yes, certainly. I shall tell Jeeves to bring the Bentley 'round just as soon as Bridgett finishes packing my Louis Vuittons. I’m seriously thinking of canceling my Thanksgiving trip. I gave myself a minor panic attack thinking about it today. Plus, it’s costing me a whole lot of money that I really don’t want to spend on a vacation. I don’t really want to go on. I called my sister and told her that I would think about it for a day or so before making my decision. I know I’m not going to go. I’ll miss seeing my sister, but maybe I’ll go down in January. ---

Red or green ballpoint does not qualify. Pencil does not qualify. And in what universe is _yellow highlighter_ a reasonable choice given the instructions they’re provided? Blue or black pens are standard office equipment in most settings and can be had quite easily and super-cheap for home. Yes, I do have a case of the crabbies today. When DH gets home, gotta yell at him. A guy with no prior snow driving experience decided he HAD to take the Jeep up into snow. Alone. As in, no one else in the vehicle with him, no other vehicle along on the trip. He has texted me that he’s back in civilization so is in no more than normal Sacramento-area traffic danger, but I’m starting to wonder if I have to stop working so I can keep an eye on what I see as damn near suicidally dangerous impulses on his part! If he’d gotten stranded, he wouldn’t have even had the options the Donner Party did! I have more than enough anxiety and depression problems as it is lately, TYVDM, without worrying about his apparent complete disregard for his own safety. ---

Happy Moonday! No park this morning as nobody else was going. The dogs were entertained all day by my neighbor outside working on something. All three of them will sit at the fence watching him. I got the news today that a cousin had a massive heart attack and is in the hospital. It doesn’t look good. I don’t know this cousin well, he is really my father’s cousin, but some of my other cousins are close to him. A lot of crap is happening around me. Is “Spot” a noun or a verb? Or both? We have mice, again. I am not happy. ---
