Granola bars, a blanket … hell, just Googl He did take one of the survival kits I assembled a couple of years back (the other lives in the trunk of my car), with Mylar blankets, equipment for starting fires, chemical handwarmers, emergency ration bars, and such, as well as our usual off-road supplies of relatively non-perishable food (trail mix, dried fruit, and similar) and several of those rechargeable jump starters that double as power banks for things like cell phones. Both cars are stocked with flares, emergency kits, fire extinguishers, and such. He also assures me he had taken a hi-vis orange jacket with reflective stripes along. He also did have a GMRS radio with him, plus his cell phone (the Jeep does have a cell booster on board). I’m still mad at him, though, for the sheer level of recklessness. He couldn’t have at least waited until Saturday when I’d be available to go along? ---

I napped. Spot played _The New Adventures Of Submarine Attack Cat_ by crawling under my covers and attacking random things, including my right kidney. then he ate something. GG has gotten accustomed to getting a little catnip on his scratching mat for our dining entertainment. He lurves his catnip. Jolene doesn’t really care about catnip, she just likes to get under him and roll her neck in his pile so he has to lick it off her. A parked but running Harley can be very entertaining if one is in the mood. (they actually make throttle controlled vibrators that can be installed under the back seat) ---

At the time he and his wife had 9 cats, he said “you’re not crazy unless you have 10 or more cats.” They’re now up to 14 cats. When Hubs visited them (in NM) even before his stem cell transplant, he had to wear several masks and gloves to keep from going full-blown allergy attack. I haven’t bothered in several years and nothing bad has happened to me. ---

I just refuse, too damn annoying and pointless. They ask about smoking, how much I drink, falls. I’m good on two out of three of those. The only time I was in danger by a gun in the past 8 years was when I worked a polling place on the 5th of November. I suspect by now the Election Commission and the local police have had a word with that guy. Of course, it’s been harder to get a good night’s sleep since then but it’s getting better. ---

Nothing wrong with that! Kids need to not be afraid of water, but also to know that it’s dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. We have far too many fatalities from kids swimming in open water (lakes, reservoirs etc) who get into difficulties and don’t know enough to get themselves out again. Or didn’t have the good sense not to go in the water in the first place. I hope you enjoy spending time with family too. Yesterday was uneventful, I logged out of irk slightly early and went to the dental hygienist. Normally I’d walk up there but it was cold and raining so I drove and found a parking space fairly close. The surgery is on a main road so there’s very little parking and although they’ve got a car park behind the building, it’s devilishly difficult to get in and out of. Appointment went well, I got the usual lecture, and I have to go back in 4 months. I’ve got a check-up appointment with the actual dentist next month as well to look forward to. I retained my title as official Binfluencer yesterday as I was the first person to haul the biiiiiig bin out to the kerb for today’s collection. Good thing I did, because I was still in bed when I heard the dustcart coming up the street. By the time I got up and had tended to the mogs, the binmen were long gone so I went out to haul the biiiiiig bin back to where it lives. I opened the door and there was snow! Who allowed that to happen? So now we have a weather warning for snow today, and likely icy conditions tomorrow. You ungrateful Colonials will laugh at this, but the merest hint of snow brings this country to a standstill. People have no idea how to drive in it, so they either don’t bother (and everything becomes a massive faff), or they go at 5mph everywhere which just blocks traffic and causes no end of bother. Today is also grocery shopping day so I’ve told the ADHD Squirrel that I’ll be taking a longer lunch break so I can do the drive in daylight. I’m ok driving in these conditions but I’d prefer to be able to see where I’m going! ---

Good morning, everyone. It’s 39F and cloudy, with an expected high temperature of 48F for the day. We ware supposed to have rain showers, too. Of note is the expected bomb cyclone that will start hitting us later today. Those along the coast and the Cascadia gap will probably feel the most impact from this, with high wind gusts and even the chance of snow. I sit right on the very, very edge of that gap, so I will unlikely feel much of anything except for an occasional strong wind gust. We shall see, though. Weather can be surprising…sometimes. **BooFae** , I certainly did not intend to make light of DV. I take that seriously and have had friends who were victims. The bins were dragged down last night—well, at least the garbage was. I’m not sure my husband dragged the grass bin down, so I’ll have to check and take it down there if I don’t see it. The pups had their shots, nails clipped, and Maisie had her anal glands expressed because she had been skooching on the carpet the last couple of days. There wasn’t much to express, but better safe than sorry. I also have many bad words about healthcare, access, and visits. **VanGo,** I hope your Thanksgiving visit is nice and that whatever is troubling you at home is soon sorted. I’m waving back at you, **Nellie**. I’ll be down that way again next week on Monday and Wednesday. **Catglove,** Maisie heard a noise and used my head as a launch pad when she jumped off the bed. Her nail(s) caught the corner of my eye, upper eyelid, and forehead. The wounds were bleeding. It’ll be fine, but it doesn’t look pretty right now. Okay, time for some more coffee. ---

The big item on today’s agenda is laundry. I can hardly contain myself. The rest of the day will be RDOS inactivities.
