So it was looking like a shortish day, until someone realized they hadn’t unloaded the one DELV trailer. 😬 So that turned a 9:45ish punchout into 12:45 punchout. With the OT, I’ve already pulled in as much this week as i did last week. And I got another identical (right down to the question mark after the period) email just a few minutes ago. Well, except there was some bolding. Some people… Looks like one of my sisters will bring my mom about halfway on Saturday so we can meet for lunch. I’m hoping they’ll be OK with the Irish Pub I suggested, but I can also do Bonefish Grill or La Tolteca or the Italian place. Waiting to hear what they say. OK, back to crocheting. I finished one and started another, learning a new technique for the starting row. And this latest one will be primarily light gray with two different shades of blue as stripes placed at intervals I have yet to decide upon. But it should be nice, and definitely warm. Onward!! ---

I’m so glad you will be able to see her, I hope you have a lovely lunch. I re-potted Citria (baby lemon tree) today and put pretty rocks on top on the dirt. Jolene inspected the pot and the rocks, she already knew what the tree was. GG inspected the pot, rocks and brand new tree, including putting a leaf in his mouth, LOL! Hubs put my shadow box up for me and I’ve put my dust-catchers up. That emptied out several boxes which will hopefully stop Donna from dropping a pile of mud in the living room or something (she won’t be able to get any more dry dirt for a while). The last box is full of things that need to go up on the walls after one of us gets to Lowe’s for more hangers. ---

Today was my November visit to the office. There was a staph beating, followed by an October & November Celebrations Potluck. The main event was a large, spiral-sliced, bone-in ham. A cow-orker made scalloped potatoes. Another one made her office-famous taco salad. Whilst I was out fetching a coffee cake and a box of chocolate-hazelnut sandwich cookies, she served me up a bowl without the Doritos in it. ‘T’ admonished me about the cookies, saying, ‘You were told not to bring those in anymore.’ I told her I forgot. A couple of minutes later ‘J’ scolded me too. I told her ‘T’ told me to bring them in. ‘Did she really?’ I replied, ‘Would I lie?’ ‘T’ said, 'Yes. Don’t lie.` Harumph, I say Harumph! Anyway, I can always deny it. ---

while i am in no news programmes mode (keeping nausea and circulatory system calm), that is watching not reading. reading is easier to control. just skim headlines. today [cnn.com](http://cnn.com) had an interesting article on a saber-tooth kitten “mummy”. a very well preserved cub was found in siberia. poor thing looks a bit like a plush toy that has been left out in the weather. it is a very sweet looking cub. they believe it was about 3 weeks old when it died, poor dear. looking forward to more info as they further examine the wee one. now i want a saber tooth cub… ---

The humane society covered the cost of extracting her teeth. She’s only got something like 3 left at this point. Today was a very long day. I drove about 40ish minutes to my new job. Then I had to drive to the recruiting company’s office after that to take care of some paperwork - that was another 55 minutes. Then finally I got to head home in the drizzly drizzle. Lucky for me I got to stop at Hobby Lobby and get a few things that I _need_. ---

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. Sup got made and we et early. It’s been rainy all afternoon so glad to be inside and dry. Now ‘tis time for Netflix, chill and popcorn with the possibility of ice cream. **Piper** re the snow, better thee than me. Maybe I should put up the “No Snow “ signs. **Cookie** hope your friends make a speedy recovery. Hope all goes well with Sadie and the vet. Also hope the plumbin’ woes are fixed soonest. I see the vet visit went well. Yikes on the price of the extractions! **WetOne** sorry about the cancellation fees and so forth. FWIW I think you did the best thing for you. **MOOOOOOM** good for you gettin’ together with your mom this weekend. **FlyBoy** you can always claim demonic possession when you show up with cookies. ---

You had apparently lost your mind when you chose to do this completely solo, with no prior snow driving experience, in the middle of godforsaken nowhere. Speaking of losing minds in bad driving conditions, Sacramento “drivers” are bad enough in good weather, but absolutely cannot cope with rain (and we’ve got a nice atmospheric river coming in soon). They seem to think rain translates to “drive faster” and that use of headlights to be visible to other cars is to be avoided. ---

And a good early evening all. Did some gym work as this is Mac-n-Cheese night so assuaged the caloric guilt early. Dishes have been washed and need to be put back in their normal spaces. Still rainy outside, at least no tunder-boomers or high winds and it’s still 64F outside, so not too bad. Evening should be relaxing, I am still several days behind my NY Times reading so might just take this evening to get caught up. **wet one** , glad you came to a decision, it’s hard to just cancel anything without paying something these days. Just depends on the day and time, I think. Afternoons are usually slow. **flyboy** , does anyone ever, like, _work_ , on office day or is it just an excuse for conspicuous consumption? **Sticky Buns** , that’s a fair amount of mileage for a twice-a-week job; hopefully that’s all the driving you need to do. And that’s all for now. Need to put the dishes away since I now have a couple dirty ones to start the next loading. Take care all. ---

We also have four lanes and yesterday three of them were full. The teacher and child were in the one by the wall and the two lanes by the open part had two women who were having a great chat. They didn’t move the entire time I was swimming. Can you have all of her claws trimmed while she’s sedated? It might be helpful if you have to drug her after the surgery. Here in Connecticut I’ve seen them cancel school for the day before it even starts snowing. I"m not feeling haiku, so in its place, here’s an old grad school trick: You can sing the first verse of Frost’s “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening” to the standard tango tune (“La Cumparsita”). 🎵 “Whose woods these are, I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see my stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow.” You can actually do this with all the verses, but people will throw things at you, and you won’t be invited to parties. We’re due for a big storm tonight: a lot of rain and winds at Wyoming Normal Level, only Wyoming trees don’t collapse because they have deep roots and are used to life being the tree equivalent of Area 54. Management told us to get everything off our balconies except furniture and then snarkily reminded us that anything that’s not furniture, like plants or Uncle Jake, is AGAINST THE LEASE. I forgot to mention yesterday that the nurse at my doctor’s office–the ONLY nurse, as it’s not a clinic–said she never gets injections, including vaccines because “they’re not putting crap in my body.” _Le sigh_. PCP’s are VERY hard to find around here due to the huge shortage. My current doc has been OK, though he’s a DO, not an MD. I’ll keep going there because I rarely go more than once a year anyway, but I’ll probably mask up. However, anyone who’s anti-vaxx should lose her nursing license. **cookie** , that’s a lot of money, but then, Sadie Kitty is worth it. I hope she won’t be in pain until January. **BooFae** , people there go mad when there’s a skiff of snow? I’m so disillusioned. **VanGo** , please rant away whenever the urge strikes. The rest of us do. **FCM** , hopefully **Boo** can check my accuracy on this, but my late, great MIL used to when someone who’s been dying has a surge of energy, it means the end is very near. ---
