Fake whiskey is something that tastes and smells nearly like whiskey, but it has no alcohol. It’s for folks like me who no longer drink the real stuff (10 years, now,) but still like the taste and aroma. Spiritless makes Kentucky 47 fake bourbon and Jalisco fake tequila. Free Spirits makes fake gin and fake bourbon. You can also get de-alcoholized wine and beer. ---

Good evening all. Swimming has been swum, dry cleaning has been picked up and the garbage and recycle bins are at the curb, and dinner is assimilating in my belly, so I think I’ve done my responsible adult things for the day. Down to 51F and the HVAC is putting some effort into keeping the house comfy, so no particular need to go out. (I might anyway, this going to the gym post-dinner for 60-90 minutes is becoming a habit). **flyboy** , sounds like that bomb cyclone lived up to it’s name. Glad you missed the worst of it. **JtC** , I have 4 pairs of gym shorts so they get rotated around, but yeah, while they still adhere to my waist the legs parts are getting real stretched out. A Wal-Mart visit may be in my future. Been snowing for the past couple of hours, but nothing sticking to pavement yet. The ramps will be icy by tomorrow, though. The wife’s niece came over and brought sandwiches from Panera. It was actually pretty good except for the tough white lettuce chunks. Sadie actually came out to check her out. ---

Mrs. L.A. is always chiding me for not reading labels on things I buy. ‘But its label was [_this_ colour]! I _thought_ it was the right one!’ I decided to make hot wings for my dinner. It’s been about a year since I’ve made them. They used to be my default quick-and-easy dinner, but I guess I switched to chicken tenderloins and broccoli. The thing is, they never seemed to be hot enough. Anyway, that’s what I’m making tonight, and I noticed the more-than-half-empty bottle. It said Frank’e Red Hot _Wings_, and below that, ‘Buffalo’. Aha! ISTM that Buffalo sauce is a diluted form of hot sauce. I think regular Frank’s Red Hot is hotter. I’ll look more closely next time. ---

The thermostat is at 70° and once MIL is no more, it will go down to 68°. The inlaws loved that place, so whenever we were on the road with them, we had to eat there. I never saw what the big deal was. Frankly, I think McD’s crispy chicken sammich is better. The smoked turkey has been dissected. Much is vacu-packed and in the freezer. There’s one bag with several wrapped pieces for next week in a different freezer, and Daughter wants me to freeze the carcass and bits that I saved for her. Tomorrow, the smoker will get cleaned. I did a load of dishes and just finished my biking. MIL is abed and I’m about to resume crocheting. Thus endeth my day. ---

I love my church, have been a member over a year. On Wednesdays I go to a different church for bible class. Its a sedate, traditional church. They had cancelled tonight, but the couple that drives me said they would take me there to get toilet paper, pastor would open the food pantry even though he was under the weather. I got t.p. and some chef boy ar dee. Also got beans, applesauce, and get this, baklava! ---

I used to get dizzy walking out of super air conditioned stores into 110 heat so I dressed for the cold and then had to take layers off so I could make it across the parking lot without getting heat stroke. Things are different here. The heat isn’t as intense and there is a lot of shade and clouds. It is currently 37F outside which is !!!OMG EVERYTHING IS GOING TO DIE!!! weather back in AZ. It is a good thing that I like bundling up in sweatpants, sweaters and UGG boots because that means I don’t have to carry more than a jacket when I go out here. ---

@FairyChatMom ~ the so called recipe had no amounts, just the ingredients. The sum total of information was ‘equal amounts’ of each of the 4 basic ingredients and ‘you’ll end up with about a third of a cup’. Bah! A tablespoon of each of the four would have you end up with a quarter cup. It did say you could ‘double or triple it’ if you wanted more. ---

Well, temp gig ended yesterday. About ten of us got cut loose because they’d simply run out of work for us to do and other areas already had more than enough temps. All amicable. Today, DH wanted to go find out how well the Jeep might handle heavy rain and wind. Rain we found, wind not so much. He’s considering trying again Friday. Tomorrow is already booked for me, what with the dreaded tortilla press (aka mammogram) among the day’s “delights”. Also gotta get some mining out done around the house. ---

Sometimes some enterprising folks put snazzy stuff like garlic powder in it. If you found a commercial version, who knows what they mixed it with. 9:30 and off to bed for me.
