Good morning. It’s a brisk 39F and sunny outside. We are going to have abundant sunshine and a daytime high of 66F. **VanGo** , I’m sorry about your friend and his dog. On the other hand, the pup got to go where she probably felt most comfortable. That doesn’t make things easier, of course, but having had to let three dogs go at the vet, I’m inclined to think that in her sleep would be the most calm way to go. I’m sorry, too, about the mouse and the oven. **Lily** , I’m glad the healing is going so well and that Topaz is such a good nurse! **JtC,** I’m glad James is on the mend. **Metal Mouse** , I can’t believe that your trip is almost over! I am glad you are enjoying yourself. We took the bikes out yesterday, but only rode about 11 or 12 miles since my battery wasn’t fully charged. Still, it was quite nice and the trail wasn’t very crowded. I seem to have the worst luck when it’s time to pass someone walking because 99.9% of the time, another bike is approaching from the other direction, usually two bikes, so there isn’t room for me, and I have to slow down or stop. Og forbid the two bikers should go single file for a minute. 🙄 Oh well, as I said, it was lovely, the sun was out, the rivers were sparkling in the sunlight, the woods were filled with shafts of sunlight and various shades of green, and where old orchard trees were blooming, it smelled wonderful. On the way home, we stopped for Korean fried chicken. My husband loved it, but me, not so much. I purposely ordered original (think just regular fried chicken), but it’s apparent they brine their chicken in something rather spicy. I couldn’t enjoy it too much. It didn’t have a spiciness flag, either. Part of me wonders if they got the order mixed up. It wasn’t the end of the world. Live and learn. I’ll probably get out in the yard today, unless my son needs help packing. I plan to check in with him a little later to see if he’s actually started. Time to get going! **Mrs Magill** and **Squeaky** headed out to Knoxville at half past good gravy this morning leaving me to my own devices today. I had wanted to sleep in, but my bladder had other plans. Chloé and I walked at six-thirty. I decided to risk it, and wore my sports bra and padding under my shirt. With my running cap pulled low,my face was hard to see. I passed one man who gave me a cheerful “Good morning,” rather than the Guy Grunt, so I don’t think he clocked me. 😃 Breakfast, caffeine, and showering followed. I set up the sprinkler in the front. I’m now getting my toes done. Next will be the liquor store, which is having a sale. ---

For some reason Zenni sent along a laser pointer with my latest pair of glasses. I just discovered Ms Peach will chase the dot. The oven is still dead. No fried mouse inside the guts, but I need to take it further apart to figure out where the chewed wire went. It appears to a ground of some sort. ---

So little ginger kitty is gone. While Hubs was at the vet with her, some folks from a rescue in Charleston were also there. They took one look at her and took her in. We paid for the office visit, flea treatment, ultrasound (no kittens inside her, but she did recently give birth and then lost the kittens somehow, which is why she also needed to be treated for mastisis) FelV and FIP testing and spay so the rescue didn’t have to. The lady who took her said that she would be snatched right up because she’s so cute and friendly. They do the usual rescue contract, no declawing, inside only, keep up with medical care and return if needed for any reason. Of course we will check their webpage several times a day and stress over it, but that’s just how it is. James still sounds like death warmed over and appreciates your good thoughts. he knows that internet strangers can be awesome friends and thinks that good thoughts and wishes make a difference. And chiken soup. I got inspired this morning and made noodles, so today’s thermoses featured chiken noodle soup. To whoever it was who recommended Better than Bouillon, thank you. You did that kitty a great kindness. I like to go to IKEA in other countries. Canada had more colorful fabrics last time we were there. I enjoy the menu (Swedish meatballs eaten with chopsticks was fun) and seeing how different alphabets render the logo/type style is interesting. ---

In the 50s and comfy today, but it looks like Monday will bring us some substantial rainfall (finally). Yesterday was weight day at exercise. Woke up this morning with considerable stiffness (no, not THAT kind) and hip pain. Staggered around for awhile, then took a couple of Excedrin. The lawyer sent us the draft will document for our input. Looked fine to me, so hopefully we’ll get that signed in the coming week. Dragged my old Brazilian-made acoustic guitar (a company called Giannini) out of the closet today. Strings are shot, of course, and the tuning keys are really stiff. There is a crack down the back; I don’t know if that can be repaired or not, or if it affects tuning. Still has a nice tone to it, so perhaps it’s worth taking it to someone to clean it up and repair it, if repairs don’t exceed the value of the thing. Made a fast trip to the grocery for a few things, but that’s going to be it for today. ---

Had a little trip out of the house today, to Whole Foods. Nice to walk a bit not in circles in the living room, though I took it slowly and used a cane to signify “don’t bump me.” The only more acute pain is near the two camera incisions on the lower right of my abdomen. The rest just aches a little. ETA: Now sunning on the front porch. About 65 ferrets. ---

Howdy Y’all! Been home a bit from a glorious Evensong. The combined choir (from all three local churches) did a magnificent rendition of _How Firm A Foundation_ which is one of my favorite hymns. I learned afterwards they pulled it off with just one rehearsal! I wish I had a recordin’ of it I could share. There was a reception afterwards that was really nice. I had a good time yakkin’ it up with my Whiskypalian friends from other congregations as well as my own. Plus some really good cake was had. And wine. There will always be wine. There was a biiiiiig rain durin’ the service. It slacked up enough to be able to leave without gettin’ soaked fortunately. We also had rain at da cave. Matter of fact it is still rainin’. ETA: Both of my brain cells bumped together and I remembered it was livestreamed. So here’s the whole thing. If you just want to hear the choir, fast forward.
