Morning all. Bladder was working overtime, was up three times last night and had another micturation after I got up, so hopefully the flow will slow. Not much planned for today, cloudy and cool (only getting to 75F). Dinner will be at Texas Roadhouse and gym may follow. Got a tire light showing my left rear was low on air, so stopped at the tire place, they filled it up but I checked this morning and it’s lost 3psi already (the others are fine) so looks like I have a small leak. I have an old can of leak fix but not sure if it’s too old or not, may go get a new one. Will see the tire folks on Monday. And that’s as exciting as life gets right now (I did have a beetle on my bed this morning, it is now an ex-beetle but eyes are out for others. Now to see what life is like with my friends… **red** , will have to remember to hit misbehaving alarms with a broom in the future… 😉 **doggio** , long shift, but the OT will be nice. **Cat Glove** , sounds like a lovely day yesterday. And keep an eye on Hubs, temperature is not the only thing to worry about. Best wishes to you both. **JtC** , most of my TV watching is on the treadmills at the gym, which have about 4-5 local channels programmed. Will watch NFL tackleball on them today if I go, but at home I’ll watch 1-2 shows and that’s usually about it. **FCM** , yeah, I can hear Otis telling his buds about that mean old lady he lives with, 😉 Stay dry. **Mollie** , traffic in any large city is no fun, but at least it gave you time to share with the Missus. **Knots** , leg cramps are no fun (get them once in a while) and understand completely your social awkwardness as I share a lot of it in any social situation. But sometimes they are inescapable (and reading further, you escaped anyway–this time). **Taters** , glad computer was fixable. And strangely I can speak well in front of a group especially if I know them, it’s the casual get-togethers that I don’t know what to do with. **Oopsie** , only two cookies? You have much more willpower than I ever had around homemade chocolate chip cookies… Enjoy one shower and survive the other (I’ll let you decide which is which… 😉). **Dicey** , nice trek. Probably do that much on the treadmills, but never tried it on any of the trails around here, might do so when the weather cools. And here I am at the bottom of the thread. Be back later, some internettin’ to do then change and head to the Roadhouse for a steak and potatoes dinner. Take care all. ---

My showers are 5 minutes. I shower at night and wash my hair in the morning. I cannot image spending 15 minutes in the shower unless you work in a coal mine. This afternoon I am doing Reiki on a friend’s horse. Bears kickoff is at noon and I don’t have to leave my house until 1 so I can watch a few minutes of the game. ---

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 13c.56f with no predicted change, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “Don’t fucking like this weather? Wait a minute. It’ll fucking change.” **JtC** I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a couple of days of disappointments, I hope you can soon get yourself back on track. **metalmouse** Sharkfest started off seven years ago as a party to celebrate Sharon and Mark’s wedding. They got married on a beach somewhere sunny and warm, and invited a couple of bands to play at their celebration when they got back home. A year or two later, it became a day-long festival and has gone from strength to strength. We are safely back home from our excursion into deepest, darkest Welsh Wales 🙂 The drive there and back was largely uneventful. We arrived at the hotel just after midday, checked in and went to our room to quickly get changed and be on the 12.30pm shuttle bus to the venue. We had a chat with a couple of people who were also waiting for the minibus. Got to The Patriot, said hello to friends on the way in and got our wristbands for the day. The rest of the day involved talking to all sorts of people, watching bands, drinking beer and scoffing pizza from the local takeaway. I was talking to a couple that we met in the Giff a while ago, they’re coming over in November to see a band that we all like and we are now all going out for a pre-gig curry with a load of other folks. That is definitely something to look forward to. I also manage to come back with an unclaimed raffle prize - Mark was wandering around with it, saw me and asked if I was a fan of [Toby Jepson](https://tobyjepsonofficial.com/), I said I was (I first saw him many years ago at one of the Donington Monsters of Rock days when he was with Little Angels) so he gave me the package - it contains four A4 prints of the CD covers and three signed copies of his solo CDs, and a t-shirt. Not bad for a prize I didn’t win! We eventually got the shuttle bus back to the hotel just before midnight, and joined a big group of folks in the bar for a nightcap before heading off to bed. The alarm was set for 9.30am so I had plenty of time for a cup of tea and a shower. We checked out at 11am, got in the car and drove round the traffic island to the Premier Inn on the other side of the island, as that’s got a little restaurant attached to it. Had some food there, and set off on the drive home. I stopped off at the big supermarket petrol station near home to fill up the tank, and 'im indoors needed to get some milk. My plan for the rest of the day is slothage (and hanging up the laundry when it’s done). We got home, fed the cats and tidied the litter trays, unpacked and I’ve put a load of laundry into the machine so that’s sloshing around. Dinner will be leftover chilli that’s been in the fridge for a couple of days, and I plan to do very little else. ---

Morning everyone! Busy weekend, got a lot done. I replaced our fence last May and June, and was finally able to get rid of the old, grey cedar pickets and support beams for the bulk trash pickup here in San Antonio. Then I got up early yesterday (7am) and today (8am) to manually scrub the downstairs tile and grout, and the improvement is 🙀 amazing. We just got done a 1/2 hour ago. Everyone is done with September close for the business (we do bookkeeping and accounting), something else I worked on yesterday. Today I need to work on a few program tools, and switch our clients to a new billing platform. Good times! I genuinely love being productive and just _getting shit done_ is my mantra in life. ---

Rain continues periodically and there’s a pervasive damp chill - not enough to put the heat on but definitely put-on-a-sweater in the house. It doesn’t help that I’m drinking an iced diet coke… OK, off with me. I’ll try to accomplish a little at least. ---

Howdy Y’all! Sneakin’ in a post before I leave to attend Sunday afternoon group over to the church house. We did’nt get Bojangles after we deheathenated. Instead we came back to da cave for sammiches. Never fear, cause I will go to there after group to get us some chikin to sup upon. **Lily** your Ducks lost a close game. No shame there. No shame for Bama fans either except those that decided to throw trash on the field and at UGA players after the game. **JtC** I agree. Hot water on a sore shoulder or back is a wondrous thing! Glad the fuzzbutts have entertainment whilst you change the sheets. **MOOOOOOM** glad Otis had some homies to hang with at the kennel. **Mollie** glad y’all had a good time. I went to the Ryman once when it was still home to the Grand Ole Opry. Dang, I am old! You are so lucky to have someone as supportive as Mrs. Magill on your side! **Knotty** a chili party provides a good excuse to distance yourself from folks or just go away altogether. Doesn’t even need to be a real excuse. “Excuse me, the chili’s talkin’” will get you excused every time! Those of us without an adult beverage named after or team make do with pony kegs and such. \*\*Cat\_Glove that woman is **Sari.** I see her over on the book of faces from time to time. Hope hubs is feelin’ better today and the sketties fundraiser goes well. I’d show up just for the chawklit chip cookie brownie bars. I call 'em brookies. **Taters** glad you’ve had a good visit with your son and Zeus.I am not a fan of commercial teevee precisely because of the commercials. They are just downright irritatin’ and soooooo stoopid! I can deal with the short commercials on tubi as they don’t last more than a minute at best. **doggio and shoe** IckFilA wouldn’t get my bidness even if’n they were open on Sunday. There food is just ick! **Oopsie** glad you had a nice visit with WifeBFF. Sometimes a good vent is needed and you are a good person to listen. Plus homemade chawklit cookies… SCORE! Hope you have fun at “niece’s” baby shower. Restaurant things are usually shorter, which in my book is a good thing. Us guys use 50 in one products that serve as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair gel, deodorant, professional grade degreaser, motor oil, car wax and general overall house cleaner. I came out so long ago I hardly remember. OK, I was twenty years old and in kolledge. **Dicey** the closets and various drawers are due for a good sort and re-arrange. They are startin’ to give me side eye. **BBBoo** I am also sure ‘Husker fans are not given to throwin’ trash and water bottles at opposin’ teams. I know it was by far a minority of Bama fans that did that, but still, show some class! **MetalMouse** if it were John, George, or Paul I wouldn’t mind. I finished reconstituting all of the glaze, save one that I had to have FCD take channel locks to because the lid was corroded. That one (Bright Green) has had water added to it and I’ll let it sit for a couple of days before taking the mini whisk to it. Then I had a go at more clay. Some was really wet, some was still on the solid side. But I squished and squeezed and wedged (that’s a fancy pottery term for kneading) and ended up with 6 homogeneous lumps that are in zippy bags. Once I do a bit more tidying, I’ll have the kids over to make whatever they want to make. Plus I’m going to make a couple-three planters for myself, And some clocks. But I think I may be done for today. Wedging clay is a pretty physical endeavor and I’s tahred. Rain continues on and off. I hear my recliner calling… ---

The bits of Isaias are hitting my windows. I’m watching the chasers in North Carolina Isaias is flinging tornados all over down there. It is heading towards Virginia. Dry air is coming in behind the remnants, hopefully knocking down the tornado risks. On the west side of the country, Montana is having quite the snowstorm. I’ve gotten a good bit of tidying done so far. Under the kitchen and bathroom sinks. Some desk clearing. On my food break now. ---

Poor Spot, his room is soiled now. Is that coming off of their porch? Not great. So it has continued to rain off and on all day. We’ve only gotten an inch and a half but the forecast calls for more rain tonight. I’ve got a pot of chicken stew simmering for dinner, it just looks like soup weather. Tomorrow we are heading north to look at the leaves and stop at a large tree and bush nursery on the way home. Its very minor, but as long as “instant on” devices are plugged in, they are drawing current. Not much, but its there. Unplugging it probably saves almost fifty cents over your lifetime. If you have older wiring or the last owner was a DIY sorta guy, you don’t want the wires to stay hot if you don’t have to. There is a very VERY small chance that could cause an electrical fire. ---

A long time ago, I bought some vegan kale and cashew pesto from Trader Joe’s. I didn’t know it was vegan and kale, but it was good. I mixed it up with salted butter and minced garlic, and put it on a 1-pound salmon fillet (that I cut in half, since there are two of us). should be done in less than 15 minutes. My wife bought some Carolan’s and some Kahlua. I had some Carolan’s on ice, and it was entirely too sweet. Now I’m having a black Russian, which isn’t so sweet. (But I don’t think I’ll have another.) ---

Well there were [tornados](https://www.wral.com/news/local/raleigh-fayetteville-north-carolina-tornado-damage-october-2026/) southwest and northeast of me.
