(Old) Tell A Stoopid Joke MMP!

110 g.

My parents went on one years ago. Brought me back a necklace, with a pendant made of moose poop.

Ah, youth.

Mine pulled that stunt, ONCE. We’re still besties after all these decades, but sheeeeeesh.

I just really liked these two words together.

Fuck 'em, and good for you.

Boss level: charge extra.

There’s gotta be some local groups; it’s just a matter of finding them. Facebook and NextDoor oughta dig up something so you can go forth & fling discs.

Okay, sweetie, this IS the Dope, but that’s one quibble/nitpick you probably could’ve gotten away with.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 94 and partly sunny with possible rain late afternoon/early evenin’. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization in which I have Verger duty and thus must serve both services. I envision some kind of McLunch to bring back to da cave and then spendin’ the rest of the day inside in the a/c.

MOOOOOOM glad a good time was had by all, drama aside. My brothers and I had no problem at all with our sis gettin’ the house when mom died. We knew it was goin’ to be that way. Also, sis is in a position to take care of the taxes etc., which is not the case in your younger sis’s situation. You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can’t pick your friends’ noses you can’t pick your family. Glad Otis had a great day too.

doggio Spot looks as if he is plannin’ your demise whilst you sleep. What have you done!

Mollie you look lovely! I am so glad you had a lot of fun and got to have conversation with several others. Huzzah for the lack of shows gettin’ in and out of your vehicle!

shoe do you point out that the pendant is made of moose poop whenever you wear the necklace? I sure would!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Morning cleaning and afternoon sloth and watch F1 is on the agenda. Spot is watching his shows. It’s overcast and 76 degrees Ferret height(Heat Index 88 Ferrets), 24.444/31.111 Centipedes

He plans my demise while I’m awake. Some days it’s like living with a little fuzzy Darth Vader(although I’m sure the Sith Lord never shoved his butthole in a minion’s face before stabbing them).

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 19c/67f with a predicted high of 21c/71f. Weather app says “Are those fucking clouds bumping uglies? Fucking perverts.”

I missed checking in yesterday, it was a good day spending time with our friends and then at the festival. We saw some good bands and chatted to people in between, and it was a nice day out. We were just in time for the last bus back and arrived home before our friends were back from doing their medic stuff in the town centre. They volunteer for a nighttime first aid service at the weekends.

We had a cup of tea and let the dogs out before we went to bed. Up and drinking tea, then breakfast and getting ready to head out for the day.

I find most highway driving stressful these days. It’s especially so when insane super-speeders zoom past me. I tend to go about 5MPH over at most, and when a car goes by at 20 over, I keep expecting to come up to a crash scene down the road. It’s even worse when it’s a loud motorcycle - scares the crap out of me as it goes by. I do so hate driving.

We’ve got a week or so with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s - a nice respite! Today started at 71 Ferrets and theoretically today will be less humid. I may actually be able to finish my yard work! (Another funny joke!!) Nothing planned for today yet, tho I would like to go to the farm store and get some 'maters and corn, and my sister gave me a metric buttload of cukes, so I’ll make some cuke salad. Oh, and I need to drop off my car for an oil change tomorrow - I like to leave it the night before so I’m first in line!

Beyond that, we shall see what happens. Happy Sunday!!

Which fesival did you attend ? There are hundreds of them !

Keep in mind that eating Silver will make your skin turn purple. Sorry, folks, I couldn’t resist squeezing another drop out of a joke.

Good morning. I woke up at 6:40am, and I shut off the alarm clock. I have to go back now and turn it back on for tomorrow morning.

Group shot from yesterday’s family gathering. I’m in the red and white striped shirt. The only non-family members are the woman behind me in the sunglasses and her son in the black shirt standing next to her - they’re friends of my sister’s.

And this is a door decoration I made more than 50 years ago - it won first prize in a neighborhood contest for night display. The big blank section is because our storm door had 2 windows with a wide band between them. I’m amazed my mom still has it.

Good morning.

It’s 59F and sunny out. The day will remain sunny, with highs around 83F. They’re still threatening us with mid-90s temps for Tuesday and Wednesday.

FCM, can’t see the pics. I’m glad you had a mostly good time, but I’m sorry about the drama.

Metal Mouse, highway/freeway driving can be monotonous, but I find I automatically settle on around 10 above the limit. Also, it feels weird to go less than 70, even though the speed limit is 60 in the more urban parts around here. I am still a frustrated grand prix driver, but I do drive for conditions.

When I drove down to Oregon last Tuesday, I was surprised at how stiff my legs were when I stopped for breakfast after 2.5 hours. I didn’t use to stiffen up so much, but then again, I drove around a lot prior to retirement. I think after the kids leave, I might take a solo drive over the mountains.

Boo Fae, it sounds like you had a lovely time.

JtC, I’m glad you’re slowly improving, but I’m sorry to read that George needs Apoquel. I just got done renewing the 'scrips for Buster and Maisie. Buster’s dose is 1.5 pills. It’s 175 bucks a month for both prescriptions together, and would be higher if I didn’t use Costco. The pills I get for the pups are chewables, and they like them.

I only got the bonus room steam cleaned yesterday. I didn’t have time to get to Goodwill, so three boxes of paperback books are in the closet, along with two boxes of assorted work papers that I need to go through. I was surprised at how much stuff had collected in that room since I retired, so it took longer to get through it. However, everything is sorted, dusted, and vacuumed, and the carpet is steam-cleaned. Today, I’ll vacuum again to pick up the assorted clumps of dog hair left behind by the steamer.

Today, I’ll work on the upstairs hallway and stairs; tomorrow and Tuesday will be downstairs. If there is time before my surgery, I’ll steam clean the primary suite. I’ve decided to leave that for last and focus on the more public areas. The hallway shouldn’t take long, but the stairs will be a PITA.

Alrighty, I need to finish my coffee, water my posies, and take a shower. Then it’s back to drudge work.

Morning all. Slept in until 8am, did the Sunday NY Times paper (and also the pecan sticky bun) run early and have also made a car appointment for Tuesday so my Hyundai will quit nagging me about it. Was going to perform mowage this morning but a rainstorm has put paid to that idea, at least for the morning. Watching the World Cup final will be my one ‘must do’ for the day, otherwise will continue recuperation from my vacation.

Mollie, glad you’re rockin’.

Flyboy, I never was very good at Fribee-tossing, never was aware there are so many variations now.

Happy Vergering, swampy.

Well, his title is Dark Lord of the Sith…

FCM, I try to stay in cruise control as much as possible and the Hyundai has a system that brakes you if you get to close to the car ahead (of course you have to be ready for emergency braking). Still, it can be trying, I think 400 miles is about my limit these days. My 10-day forecast sounds a lot like yours, except the lows will be in the 70’s and rain is expected several tiomes next week.

Taters, I usually settle for 76-77MPH on the 70MPH limit roads and 72-73 on the 65MPH ones…enough to keep up with the flow but easy to get down near the limit if old John Law appears ahead. My legs do ok, but 2.5 hours straight seems to be the limit on my butt not aching.

And got about an hour before dressing nicely and heading off to Longhorn for Sunday dinner. Y’all take care now.

Good morning Mumpers
Pleased to report that my wake up time has improved. Friday it was shortly after 3am, Saturday it was 4:15ish, and today if was about 5:10. I had my alarm set for 6am so I got some extra time and was early to church to get ready to lector.

No second breakfast for Bella on Friday or Saturday (she had second dinner both days though); however, this being Sunday I generally like to make an omelette with bacon on side. So, Bella was the recipient of scrambled eggs and bacon.

No plans for the day. Right now I’m watching The Open. My plan for this 4 day weekend with Bella was to go on a lot of walks, some on trails, but with the air quality being what it is, that plan has gone by the wayside. I also wanted to go swim laps, you may remember that I bought new goggles and swim cap on Tuesday but not doing that either. I could go to the fitness center and swim there but I prefer swimming the width of the 50 meter.

sent to my daughter to share with her friend that has a Maine Coon.
would also work for Bella changing the word cat to dog and his to her.

:face_exhaling: (that’s the best I could come up with for a whistle) looking good!

awww; that’s true love

Good morning, everyone! Chloé and I slept in until quarter after seven, then we had a good walk. We got back home, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that Spike had noticed that my car was plugged in. He had unplugged it and coiled up the cable before pulling in his car.

I made myself some eggs in a basket for breakfast. There is now a twelve pound cavapoo staring at me, wanting to know when I’m going to let her lick the plate. Well, I really shouldn’t put an unrinsed plate in the dishwasher, should I?

Oh, geez. I hadn’t thought about “Shut up” jokes in years. It’s like being in fourth grade again.

Oppsie Which set are you working on now? You need to share, otherwise I can’t live vicariously through you.

Hippy Please share your progress with us. I find the artistic endeavors of others endlessly fascinating.

fcm Both of my parents went through similar drama with their siblings. My father’s takeaway was to be as open and forthright about his will as possible. So far, we haven’t had any drama.

Wait, I’m supposed to charge for the shows?

This is how I found my gaming group.

You are too kind.

Last night was fun. There were a lot of new folks. Was was sat next to a younger person named Andrew, who found us at his first Pride last month. I was also by Patrick, who had obviously transitioned some time ago, was also new to the group. I did notice his gaze lingering at my chest. And while I did build some amazing cleavage, I’m really used to one person staring at it… me.

Right time to clean up from breakfast and then shower time.

Have a good day, all.

Afternoon.

Bright Tree hee, the garden is a complete mess. OK, the front bit looks decent right now, because the geraniums cover a multitude of sins, but the rest is a shambles. I didn’t clear it before I started growing, so everything’s in silly places and needs moving to a better spot, the weeds are my height in some bits and I still haven’t worked out the layout plan after 3 years, despite having had formal education in garden design… But I do get some food out of it.

It’s my main incentive to get the PhD done on time, so I can spend the time before the viva getting everything rearranged to more sensible spots, 'cos October is a really good month for it here.

Don’t think I’ve ever petted a kangaroo Metal Mouse… I’ve worked with wallabies, but they weren’t the petting type. I’ve seen wild 'roos, but they’re Australian wildlife, so nope.

BooFae I’m slightly in awe of your gig 'n festival attending skills. I’m planning on going to one (1) gig this year, which is one more than last year.

Anyway, I think I should head off to the shops. Not that I need much, except aigs and more ice cream.

Ooops - didn’t realize my sister made them Friends Only. Usually her posts are public.

Door decor shot

FCD’s Santa Fe has that, too, and I hate it because it makes him a lazy driver. He relies on it too much - I don’t like him to drive my car since it doesn’t have all those “safety” features. I don’t mind warning alarms, but I hate when the car does stuff on its own.

My mom isn’t keeping secrets, but, well, entitled sister…

Since I was sent home with a metric buttload of cucumbers to augment my sparse harvest, I made a BIG cuke-onion salad this morning, bagging up some of it for Daughter, since the grandspawn love it. Then I did the requisite ice-machine clean, made some instant ‘nanner puddin’ for FCD, loaded and ran the dishwasher, and I’ve got some eggs boiling for egg salad.

My poor tired sweetie went back to bed, so I’m putting off my shower till he’s up again. Which means I won’t be going to Aldi or the farm store till later. Oh well…

And the eggs are done - time to get peeling so they can cool for chopping.

I’ve done my morning house/computer stuff, and I logged into work just long enough to approve timesheets and draft some emails that will need to go out in the morning. Now it’s 12:26pm, and time for a quick shower; then I’ll head downstairs for lunch and Lego.

I’ll be surrounded by tiny plastic bricks until it’s time to get dressed: friends (a married couple) are coming by at 4:45 to see the new place, then we’re going out to dinner at a nearby restaurant that has a live jazz trio on Sunday evenings. I haven’t seen these friends in a couple of months, but they’re who I’m closest to after HusbandBFF and WifeBFF (we went to Paris together nine years ago; the husband is also a jazz musician). Should be a good time – plus, yesterday’s brief storms were enough to break the heat wave so it might actually be bearable outside! There’s still some lingering smoke from Canada, but nothing like the last couple of days. This morning I changed the thermostat setting from 75 to 73, and I didn’t have to turn on the home office fan until just a few minutes ago. :tada:

Yep…thanks! My bro and I were pretty cute kids, if I do say so myself.

What strikes me the most about the article (which I know isn’t readable here) is that my parents were only 28 at the time. I was in my early 40s before I was able to really appreciate how young they were during all of that.

Ooooo, pretty!

I never pilled Bailey: part of it was being worried about hurting her, part of it was the impossible logistics of being one 5’3 person trying to hold a 45-pound dog in place while also opening her mouth and wrangling a pill, but part of it was not wanting to be the “bad guy” and have her start fearing/avoiding me. Luckily, all of the medications she needed during her life were either available as an injection (given by the vet) or could be crushed and mixed into her food.

Very nice! That dress looks amazing on you!

LOL! As of last night I’m a little more than halfway through the Hogwarts Castle and Grounds.

Yesterday I learned about a new set, available August 1, that I immediately put on my wish list…but can’t consider until I get a bonus: Tower Bridge (an update of the 2010 version).

A good night’s sleep for a change. No hip pain and minimal bathroom treks.

Heading for 90s today and tomorrow, then a ten degree drop and low humidity for a week. I’ll take it.

Gotta make a couple of banking trips in the coming week to redistribute some money from CDs that are maturing, but otherwise it looks to be quiet.

My mother would call me every time a cat needed to take a pill.

Thank you so much! Last night was a night of firsts from presenting in public to having a napkin in my lap without being able to tuck it into the top of my pants.

Want!

We decided to do Texas Roadhouse for lunch, so no supper for us.

Once we got home, I finished cleaning the ice maker, and now I’m making ice again. Oh the excitement! Be still my heart!!!

Last night coming home after Late Close was the 2nd time in a week-ish of seeing a bun-bun out WAY past their bedtime.

Maybe it’s the same one, and it has bunsomnia? 1:55 a.m. seems a little late for “crepuscular” but you do you, bun.
