Yes, so as I briefly mentioned the memorial went well. It was rather informal and quite lovely as the shelter looked out on the lake. There were fishermen in boats out there and below our shelter there was a girl laying in a hammock playing her guitar. There was a large clan of people from the place where my dad had worked for 20+ years and I had worked there also for about 15 or so years. It was actually such a long time span that I had to introduce people to each other as: this is Jodie, she worked at the place and Jodie, this is Tina, she worked at the place, too, but about 5 years before you did. That happened quite a few times. There was also a faction of his classmates that he had graduated from high school with who came together. Lucky for me, their _ringleader_ who was my father’s chief enabler apparently got her nose out of joint after my last conversation with her and she decided not to come. :aw, shucks: One of my cousins that I hadn’t seen in years and years offered to help and she make cookies and brownies, and cupcakes and 5 tons of each! It was so sweet of her to do that. Unfortunately, no one at much of anything so I was literally putting plates and such in people’s hands as they left. And even after that, we still have so many leftover sweets here. I’m going to find a new home for them at my favorite clubhouse tomorrow. We went around and whoever wanted to could share happy memories about my dad. It was really nice to have everyone there and to hear what they had to say. Especially nice was my friend who stopped by before everything started and dropped off a collage of photos that she had put together. She could not stay with us because someone was actually throwing a benefit for her later that day because she has cancer. I so appreciated her going out of her way to help us. There was also another great friend who had worked with my dad and I at the place and then she had worked for me when I was catering. Well, she just came to hang out with us throughout the whole thing - kind of like an emotional support human - because she knew how nervous I was about the whole thing. It was so wonderful. And, of course, MusicMan was wonderful as well. He was very awesome and did all the heavy lifting and was sweet and kind, too. Today has been a bit stressful. We’re waiting for an important video call tomorrow morning about MusicMan’s veteran stuff and we’ve all been out of sorts. Hopefully we’ll get great news and sooner rather than later. The weird thing that has happened lately is after the Matzo ball soup baptized my feet, we had two large drinks at the movie theater spill all over our legs and feet. Then as we were emptying out the cooler with the beverages, my friend and I accidentally dumped the water on my feet there, too! I hope that strange trend ends soon! Ok, enough of my book for today…. I need to go to bed soon, anyways. ---

Evening all. Did get some pedaling in at the gym and then was an assistant referee (one of those who are on the sidelines with flags) for a makeup game. Mostly just to get the practice in as I will be going to the AYSO Section tournament (for teams in the 8-state southern region) in mid-June in Knoxville and probably will be doing several assistant jobs along with some center refereeing. This was pretty easy, Under-12 boys, but tomorrow and Thursday I will be doing Under-15’s and they are way smarter and faster, so I’ll need to be on my toes. Thought about going back to the gym for round 2 on the bicycles to nowhere, but decided I had enough exercise for the day. So back to internettin’ and readin’. Finally got too hot indoors for even me and the AC is running, will leave it on until bedtime and then we’ll see how it is. Nice to see you about these parts again, **Wheelie**. Appears that they like your work and are keeping you busy, which means paychecks coming in. I’m pretty much done packing everything but the kitchen and I will start there tomorrow. OK, I’m going to rant with a tad of profanity over someone who really can’t help it much and its gross sos some of yall might wanna skip this one … OK the break I get from the daily annoyances is aunt goes to her pub and sometimes meets her GC and goes to his house for the night Well usually this isn’t too much of a problem but that leaves me with my physically and mentally disabled cousin who’s 46 but whose mental range varies between 6 and 15 depending on the day … Well even though she knows how to change her self when she wets (it’s mostly due to her being distracted over her tv or coloring book tablet etc. ) well shes become a bit of an impatient lazy ass because I’m here to help and certain people (her big sister aka my cousin that I’ve ranted about and a few others) have convinced her that people should jump when she wants something in her old age Hence the start of a fucking literally shitty mess that I’ve spent 2 hours of cleaning her and the bathroom because she didn’t follow the normal procedure that she was taught when she has to change … she plopped on the floor and realized she couldn’t get changed because well shes a little of the big side and couldn’t get up Once I got her up after 20 minutes to sit on the toilet so I could help put her depends and her pants on she ripped one that was a gagger I asked her if she needed to poop she said yes so I told her just let me know when she was done …well apparently she had been holding it in while getting changed since she just let loose not making it to the toilet and it went all over the floor toilet and rugs and floor and she tried to clean it up which just made it fucking worse, fortunately, I’m used to such things but it pissed me off because if she had just sat on the toilet and waited for me to finish what I was doing she would have went as normal or even if she had gotten dressed right it would have been avoided … so I got her cleaned up and she offered not to give me an argument about going to bed since she knew if I called mom shed be in huge trouble… then I spent an hour or more cleaning and mopping the bathroom while trying to wish I didn’t wanna strangle one of the sweetest most lovable people on earth …and just finished taking out a bag of shitty items and decided to tell my story lol ---

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/52f with a predicted high of 16c/61f, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “It’s fifty shades of fucking grey outside but not in the sexy-time way. It’s in the fucking depressing way.” I disagree, it’s overcast and cool (which is what I like), we’ve had several days where it’s been far too hot for me so this is a welcome change. **Sticky Buns** I’m so glad the memorial went so well, sounds like you had a really good day with so many people and so many special memories. Also, hope things with MusicMan work out. **nellie** sounds like Ms Dog has been keeping you very active! **Pilot** that is definitely enough activity to keep the pearl-clutchers busy 🙂 **JtC** good to hear that the termite situation can be fixed and you don’t have to delay moving. **VanGo** well done on getting the set built and installed, despite the number of obstacles the school has put in the way. **Lucky** the sofa’s lovely, I can just picture the chair. You’re fortunate to find somewhere that has the kind of things you like. **Wheelie** glad to hear you’ve been keeping busy, it sounds like being a PM is the last job you want! **RealFish** I hope the graduation goes well and everyone has a memorable time (for all the right reasons!) **Shady** I am sorry you got left with such a mess to clean up, you are entitled to a rant after all that. After a couple of weeks of the bins not being emptied on the right day, 'im indoors has seen the council’s site with details of why a bin may have been missed. The first thing it says is that the bin should be out on the street by 6.30am, mine usually goes out around 7.30am when I get up. He is convinced this is the problem (despite the fact that when the bin did get emptied on the right day, it was never before 10am) so I hauled the biiiiig bin out to the kerb at 11pm last night. It’s now 9.30am and no signs of any dustcarts yet. So obviously that’s not the problem… We’ll see if they turn up any time soon, but I am not holding out much hope. I expect to be reporting another missed collection in a couple of days. We’re supposed to wait 48hrs before reporting it, so the bin will stay where it is for the duration. ---

Foggy, foggy morning here - why is fog so eerie? Or is it just my reaction? It’s supposed to burn off by 8 or so, and we’re promised sun and 79° before the day is over. We shall see. I’m not sure what today’s plans are. MIL wants to go get a haircut. Well, she wants to go ask if she needs a haircut, because the stylist will honestly say “Oh, no honey, it looks good. Come back in 3 weeks!” 🙄 So I might be taking her today. I need a few grocery items also and I want to mow. We’ll see how the day goes. And feel free to ignore what follows. Speaking of MIL - twice in two days, she’s taken off without her walker, claiming she forgot. Once she got all the way from her room to the living room - I got up and escorted her to her chair. Yesterday, she got up and started walking to her room, and both **FCD** and I yelled “Take your walker!” Unlike FIL, she’s not doing it out of stubbornness - she’s just vague and occasionally forgets that she needs it. Meanwhile, all I can envision is her getting wobbly as she walks past the piano and whacking her head on one of its hard edges. We tried telling her last night that her nurse thinks she’s in no condition to make the trip to Indianapolis. **FCD** said after sitting in church for an hour, she could barely stand to get into the car, but she seems to think she can tolerate 5-6 hours on the road. He won’t refuse to take her and she won’t accept that she shouldn’t go, so unless something happens to UncleJ to prevent her from visiting, we’ll be driving to Indy within the next few weeks. Dammit. OK, enough whining about her. I found out yesterday that Tobias’ school no longer gives a discount to BAE employees, dammit. I thought that would be a little bonus of Daughter working there. Oh well… I am going to ask her to take over part of his tuition, tho, once she gets her finances straightened out. I’m willing to help out as I did with Roxy, but I’m not willing to spend my retirement funds so while she and SIL, well, let’s just say I think some of their financial decisions are frivolous. I don’t tell her how to manage her money, and she doesn’t ask. But there is a limit. She’ll be coming over today to use our scanner - I’ll talk to her about it then. Good morning all. Got about 7 hours sleep in, so should be good for the day. Need to visit the bank and the gas station, both missions are to fill what is empty, and then another gym/soccer referee day. This time it is Under-15’s, which are on full-sized 120 yard fields, so it should be a good test of my fitness. Mornin all. Now 0745 on a sunny day with a puffy cloud or two. As is my recent usual, I’ve been up since 5, balconatin’ and caffinatin’. NWS says it’s now 76/24 on the way to 88/31. Like other recent days I might see rain or lightning in the distance, or it might briefly visit wherever I happen to be standing. BB called when she woke up around 630 and we had a short chat while she was horizontal and still in her waking up voice. Rowwrr! **FCM** : Taking MIL on a drive to Indy includes the risk she has a crisis in the car out in the boonies. You and **FCD** need to ensure you have mentally and emotionally prepared for that and have some idea of what to do, or not do, if she chooses the interstate as the place to have her final heart attack or whatever. Or at some small town hotel or diner along the way. My mother died of a heart attack while sitting in her car waiting at the airport passenger pickup for me to arrive for a week’s visit. Needless to say, I did not get the joyous reception I was anticipating. That hurt a lot more than it should have for being completely unexpected; she was generally hale and hearty. In hindsight I’m glad it happened then, and not 20 minutes later when she’d have been driving down the freeway with me riding shotgun. Friend just texted. We were supposed to walk at 10am but she woke up with diarrhea since she has microscopic colitis. Heck. Guess I’ll get outside and work on the garden. And **pilot** please take your weather back; it’s supposed to be a high of 87\* here today. While I loved that kind of weather when I was young, I prefer 70’s or high 60’s now. ---
