Morning all. Apologies for not posting last night in the previous thread, talked to brother and got my directions for Thanksgiving and Xmas, planned that, then between the Sunday NY Time crossword (actually solved it!) and some browsing, never made it back to the MMP. Mea culpa and I’ll try to do better. Been fairly active this morning (once I got up around 8am). Did the hotel/rental car/flight things for Thanksgiving, looks like it will work out and stay within my planned budget for this month, so there is that. Then shopping and sammich and in about 30 minutes I’ll call the car repair place and they’d better have good news for me, or I will be very grumpy…and you don’t want to see me grumpy…(stolen from [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/J6QB9HI1QCs](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/J6QB9HI1QCs)) After that I’ll need to return (I hope) the rental car, get mine back, and coach youth soccer this afternoon, then probably enjoy a Cheeseburger somewhere down the line for National Cheeseburger Day. **Flyboy,** , love the picture, may have to copy it and send to my Brother, who worked 30 years for AB in St. Louis. And having lived for 4 years in a place that was 8-10 hours ahead of US time, I know what you mean. And neat about the raccoon-caller. **Pilot** , hope the vampire didn’t bite to hard (glad it went well). And you have a flair in describing the morning’s beginnings that I do envy. **FCM** , enjoy your knittin’; that dragon is something. And good luck with the binkie-separation task. **boo fae** , very nice arrangement at that bar. And who knows, maybe the newbies will be better organized and mature this time (ahahahahahaha), **Cookie** , hope the appointment went well, and remember, Listen to COOKIE!! The appointment went fine, but since I don’t really trust this person, I’ll take what she said with a grain of salt. Hit the bank and grocery without issue and made an appointment for tomorrow to get the oil changed in the family truckster; also a check to see why the low tire pressure light keeps coming on. Hopefully not a slow leak somewhere. Fire alarm system checks going on today, which is always fun. ---

Happy Moanday to all in Mumperland, although I guess this week we’re the Urine Nation. I just got back from the cop shop. My friend and neighbor was sort-of accosted last night and wanted moral support while she filed an incident report. A guy ran up behind her from the little woods nearby and was about to strike when a witness yelled, and the guy ran back into the woods. She decided to file a report only because the guy might try it again with someone else. So that’s been MY morning. I’m now icing my knee. Had I had prune juice to boot we might have needed a complete bathroom remodel by the time the explosions died down. On a happy note I did lose 3 lbs! 😁 ---

We interrupt this program for the following news bulletin: IT’S NATIONAL CHEESEBURGER DAY! To celebrate, Burger King will give you a FREE cheeseburger if you spend at least 1$. Wendy’s is selling its junior bacon cheeseburger for 1¢ as long as you buy something else from the menu. And McDonald’s is selling it’s double cheeseburger for 50¢, but only if you order through the app. I think all are limit: 1. ---

Well, as it’s usually “work time” I have finally gotten my lazy ass in gear. Having spent most of the morning farting around in bed, I thought there was something wrong with me … am I sick? But around 2-ish (when my "get going alarm would’ve gone off) I suddenly felt the urge to get the fuck up and accomplish at least a bare minimum. Trash bin been has been retrieved. An Amazon purchase has been suitably shelved, and the box both broken down and tossed to re-start the Great Suburban Trash Cycle ™ along with some minor household trash. Laundry is spinning. I put dish detergent on a grease stain (there was a chicken-wing-related mishap when I was working fryers) so things will hopefully be SUPER clean. The pants are favorites - they have pockets! (_Technically_ they’re PJs, but I still wear 'em to work…) They are also tie-dye so even if the stain doesn’t come out, it will hopefully be less visible. > [@nelliebly](#): > > We interrupt this program for the following news bulletin: Thanks for the heads-up! As I am lazy, impatient, and cranky, I will avoid the lines. But I _did_ wanna treat myself to a lil’ something, so methinks either my usual sushi, or my usual at the fried-everything shack (a thigh & roll … last time I marched right back in and bought 3 more rolls, forgot how _good_ they are) or possibly both. One to counteract the other. To clarify: the rolls are the one thing on the menu that isn’t fried. Literally everything else … including smelt, which I’d never tried before! ---

Thank you for those explanations, especially the graphic one. 😁 I’m a little annoyed just now, as I have just discovered that Microsquash has not, As I previously believed, figured out that, yes, computer users DO want to put their data files on their D drives. Win 11 sticks all your ‘documents’, ‘pictures’, and ‘music’ into folders on your C drive thusly: C:Users\username\OneDrive\Documents, or Pictures, or Music, completely ignoring the (relatively) gigantic D drive this 'puter came with. What the bloody Hell did they think I was gonna put out there? It’s all so that the user will use their OneDrive scheme, which they will prolly want to charge us for, if they don’t already. I don’t know as I’ve so far managed to ignore it. Oh well. Makes me wanna learn Linux. I’ve always used Windoze 'cause that’s always been what my employers used, and thus it was easier for me, and they’d give it to me. And sometimes they’d give me other free software to run on my home 'puter. I no longer have that excuse, and now I just have to admit that I’m basically lazy and don’t want to take the trouble to learn something else. I did have a Mac (given to me) once but found it just as frustrating as Windoze, but for different reasons. I suspect that if I did learn some variation of Linux it’d annoy me too. le sigh. There are ways around it, for now.
