**FCM** , at our ages, most everybody is a kid, except for those who are as old as us
[/quote]

No, no, _especially_ those who are as old as we are! We’re just kids who’ve been around longer.

And it just hit me that **MetalMouse** was having a mouse issue. They should bow down before you, their idol. Crown you king! Carry you on their shoul–oh. Maybe not. How many hundreds of buff meeces would it take to carry a human without getting smooshed?

**Sari** , ol’ chum, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that much pain. I hope you get relief soon.

Aw, that says so many nice things about her! If Petco had greeters like WalMart does, I’d do it for free.

My neighbors in Wyoming had a beagle. Every time an ambulance went by, which was several times a day, he’d howl. Poor boy, they hurt his ears, I guess, but it sounded like he was sad for whoever needed one.

Whenever I hear a siren, I automatically say a Hail Mary. The nuns had us do that, but it seems like a nice thing to do, anyway. When I was in kindergarten, 4 or 5 of us had to wait after school for older siblings, who got out later. We were unsupervised. One day, one of the boys bragged that he was good at making siren sounds. Soon we were all doing it. After about 10 minutes, a nun bustled in and scolded us. Some of the sisters gathered on the corner to pray for those needing an ambulance, only it never got any nearer. We were supposed to feel guilty, but we beamed with pride. “We MUST be good to fool nuns!”

We don’t need to talk about that part! I did understand what you meant when you said you wrestled the chair all over the living room, I remember that part pretty clearly, LOL

You sister is lucky that you are such a calm and level headed man!!!

Those poor children. That is far too early for them to learn about the monthly bleeding. I was scared when I started despite knowing what to expect, an 8 year old would probably be pretty panic stricken if caught unaware.

Oh hurray!!! The first year is always so worrisome, I hope you don’t get a late freeze. I always plant that sort of thing in the fall so I get to worry about no growth all winter before finally seeing signs of life in the spring.

All of the votes so far have been for flowers, so that’s what I will plant. One bed has been given over to the catnip and 4 0’clocks, I’ll plant some Columbines in the tomato bed. They are showy and grow quickly.

I’m glad you did that. Even if it wasn’t working folks will use them for parts and scrap so besides helping another person, you didn’t throw it into one of our many overflowing landfills.

Your job sounds not as fun as it could be but at least it’s paying the bills.

This must be a nun thing. My teachers taught it to us as well. Your siren sounds must have been spot on.

And a good Sunday Evening to all. Olive Garden did not have breadsticks ready when they opened (the horror! the horror!) but they came with my meal and were delicious. Made it to the gym and with the golf, soccer and basketball on the TV’s stayed for a little longer than normal, so got a lot of those fettuccine calories burned. Then home and pretty much slothed the rest of the afternoon away. Made it over 80F and tomorrow and 2sDay are supposed to be similar, but rain is due later in the week. But I’ll worry about that later.

Sounds like you had the perfect night out. Good on ya!

**JtC** , been scanning for any mouse scat, my home is brick on a slab, so not too many places they can get in by. Put the trap next to the apples I bought today, apparently they like Red Delicious apples as much as I do. So far haven’t seen any evidence except for the single intruder and that’s the first one in 3-4 years.

**Oopsie** , nice that you are being recognized by the boss, now if that leads to a performance bonus or raise… Glad shopping with the nephew went well.

**Cookie** , hope the scholarship comes through, that is a very good thing you did there. And for me the best part of Five Guys is the fries, albeit the burgers are usually good.

> [@nelliebly](#):

> So you have to stand up in order to sloth?

Dear **nellie** , to sloth properly one must be accoutered properly; in my case, sweatshirt and sweatpants with slippers. Wearing heavy athletic shoes and a sweaty uniform just won’t do for gentlemanly slothage…

**FCM** , I took Cracker Barrel off my Sunday Dinner list, lines were too long and the food just wasn’t that tasty to me. But I know what you and her mean about meeting doggies (not our doggio).

**IL** , best wishes to Mr. Legend, constant pain is not fun.

OK, it’s nearly 8pm and there’s a newspaper to read and the internet to be scanned, so all y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

This weekend was a bit productive. On Saturday I went through a basket of rubber stamps I’ve collected. I have quite a few ziplock bags to give away. Watched way too much tv.

On Sunday I but together a booktree [Hoctieon 6 Tier Tree Bookshelf, Tall Bookcase with Drawer, Freestanding Book Shelf, Display Floor Standing Storage Shelf, Book Organizer Shelves for Home Office, Living Room, Bedroom, Black - Yahoo Shopping](https://shopping.yahoo.com/product/amazon_B0BZC83TWQ?pid=amazon_B0BZC83TWQ) for near the chair in the bedroom. Also continued to watch too much tv.

Must remember to get popcorn for the trial start tomorrow.

Mrs. L.A.'s 2010 RAV4 is cranking slowly. I don’t think she’s gotten a new battery since she bought it almost a decade ago. She’s going to go to NAPA Auto Parts tomorrow for a new one. It was so much simpler when we could just go to Sears and get a Die-Hard. Alas, there are no more Sears.

On my way to the airport now.
The red-eye is often the best option when crossing multiple time zones from west to east, though this is the first time I’ve done it for work. I may catch a Z or two on the plane, or not. Couple hours for breakfast at O’Hare, and then I’ll land in Indy at 11:30 am local time. Don’t start the job until Tuesday, so there’ll be plenty of time to catch up on sleep.

I’ll check in on the next MMP from Chicago. See ya then!

> I don’t think she’s gotten a new battery since she bought it almost a decade ago.

Batteries are pretty amazing nowadays. Super reliable, no battery acid and they last much longer than back when we first started driving.

Hubs thinks we should teach GG to wear a leash and harness before we move. While I agree that I have always enjoyed leash walking the other TWO cats we have had that enjoy it, I find myself wondering about the timing involved. I’m thinking we should have started this last year. Hubs also thinks that GG would be happier if he wasn’t in a carrier in the car and that as long as GG is wearing his harness and leash it will make him happier.

That is a big fat NO! There is a reason I always seatbelt their carriers into their seat, things fly in an accident and I don’t want my cat to fly into a windshield. GG will be sleeping in his carrier which will be seat belted in.

No flying or under the pedals for my cats.

My experience with blackberries is that they are nearly impossible to kill, even if they look kinda ratty.
Then again, maybe the thornless kind is more delicate. I’m familiar with the wilder type.

HA! Mumpers were on a roll today!

* * *

I have my appntmnt. with the tax accountant tomorrow, and no, I haven’t gathered my paperwork yet.
Most of it’s in my mailbox, and one thing is online that I think last year I emailed to myself and then forwarded.

I just haven’t put on my Big Girl Panties yet, and hey, I worked all day today!

I’m definitely not getting a refund this year - it’s more a matter of how badly this one’s gonna hurt.

I got decent $$ back last year and very irresponsibly spent it like a drunken sailor, so I feel like this is penance for financial sins or something.
