Ah, crap.

Heh. Literally.

One of the crew quit mid-shift. I only know some of the details.

He felt some type of ways about how certain things were being done, was pissy. Fine, whatever.
Got his 15 min break and then after coming back, apparently wandered into the back kitchen, did who knows what for a second, then spent another 17 in the potty - according to **S.M.** who was in the unfortunate position of monitoring that, plus dealing with whatever his initial attitude was - and eventually she said she told him that he could either change his attitude or clock out & go home, and he immediately chose the latter.

Being short-staffed initially sucked, but then we all sort of re-calibrated and it was pretty smooth after that first weird hour. **S.M.** was a bit rattled (she really is a sweet woman, this stuff … she can handle it, she’s a tough cookie, but it does cost her emotionally) and I wish I could smack some sense into that dumbass 19-year-old, but … well, who hasn’t ever said that last part?

Punching them, however, not so much. Ask me how I know.

Oh, you’re gonna fit right in.

He’s figured out that I am the keeper of the gooshy-fud.

I am so happy for you! One of the tiny little achievements in adulthood that works out so well.

I know how you meant to finish that, but my naughty mind found all SORTS of interesting body parts to end that particular round of Mad Libs.

Fortunately, it’s not that difficult of a job, to do the absolute bare minimum.

It’s when you wanna do better, that it becomes something of a high-wire circus act. That’s why I refer to some of them as Oven Masters .. what they do requires so much mental focus, multitasking, and fine-tuned communication.

Why are we putting cookies in the freezer?

Oh, bless her poor, sweet heart.

(That’s usually a passive-aggressive saying, but it can also be meant with utter solidarity and sympathy, and that’s how I meant it this time.)

My father is German & my mother is Polish. I can get away with a lotta shit like that.

This made my heart so happy for you.

Okay, that was well done, sirs.

Sometimes there are simple solutions.

Heh. I can’t let that one go unnoticed.

* * *

Baked a coupla crackers tonight. One puffed up and we let it bake like that AND IT SET UP so I have a “hut” made of pizza crust; the rats can go live inside it.

Better, though, we were finishing off the strawberries I’d brought in & when I confirmed that they absolutely could have the little green tops, they both saved all of theirs & we tucked them _into_ the “hut” so it’s basically now a pinata with sweet treats inside!
