**sari** , I can usually read the apartment number in the pics that da Jungle sends upon delivery. The mixups tend to be between me (1008) and the guy in building 11 (1108). Every couple of years, GoogleMaps gets a brain fart and makes the directions to my place the directions to his and vice versa. While it is Google that is responsible, they don’t pay me any mind, so I usually contact CS at da Jungle and they get it fixed for all of the deliveries. **metal mouse** , when your phone died and wouldn’t charge, were you using a charging cable that you don’t usually use? The reason that I ask is that cheap cables are often the issue and sometimes, even mess up your port (iPhones are especially susceptible to that). You will rarely save money by using a cheap cable. My phone is now synced to my car. The YT video was full of shirt (thanks for that one **doggio** ), so I phoned a friend. I didn’t get the herbs harvested because it was just too stinking hot. I did hit the grocery outlet though and picked up about a month’s worth of meat, a few pantry items (including 2# of peanut butter for $3) and some snacks and got out of there for under $40. I’ll get out to harvest the herbs tomorrow once I get up, then I hope to take Nelson to the dog park before it heats up (he’s had a serious case of the zoomies since the heat wave began). Then it will be the usual Sunday. After a bit of studio time, I’ll chill. ---

Not really. Start with “Dow” as is “Dow Jones Industrial Average.” Now add a hard guh “G” sound. DowG. Now stretch the duration of the “o” to about double normal _without_ changing the sound. DoowG. You’re getting closer. Now back off just slightly from the short “o” sound of Dow towards the “aw” sound of “claw” or “draw” or “paw”. You’re almost there. Now crank up the transitional “w” sound between the end of the “o” and the start of the “g” so there’s a real voiced baby “w” tucked in there. Daawwg. But where “aa” signals extra duration, not the usual long/short distinction. That’s a Georgia style dog. ---

So, ummm, I don’t know much about squirrels. My motel is in a very well groomed business park and I saw a squirrel looking around in the gravel landscaping for food. I bought some unsalted, raw peanuts and scattered a bunch where I could see them from my room. The squirrel found them and ate a whole lot and is now on the lowest branch of a tree, laying on its tummy with legs hanging off the branch. Am I correct in thinking that he is just full, or do you guys think she’s sick and I should go out and pick up the rest of the peanuts? I’m kinda worried here… ---

I think wildlife can handle its own problems. If the peanuts disagreed with the squirrel it’ll either not eat any more or it’ll eat the rest, die, and prove it’s too stupid to deserve to reproduce. So whether it ends up happily full or sadly dead you’ve helped squirreldom and should feel good about yourself. You have enough to worry about just keeping your own head on straight while defending yourself from all the human poo-flinging monkeys in your life. Don’t borrow concerns from others. Please. FTR, we had many, many squirrels when I lived on the lake in the Midwest with all the big trees everywhere. They’re cute, playful, rambunctious, and love to eat nuts and seeds. Many a neighbor lamented how their birdfeeders were mostly squirrel feeders. I thought it was great watching them shinny up poles and hang upside down to bust open the feeder and get all the nuts and seeds. Never saw one overeat to the point of self-harm despite sitting in silly-large piles of food. ---

Reason for pink is so it would not clash with the pale aqua bath mat and towels that I already have. One must make an attempt to color coordinate, no? A little more unpacking got done and some needed items purchased. I still have to see about renting another uHaul for tomorrow, but this one doesn’t need to be a big box truck. I’m moving my small chest freezer and a few items from my friend’s house. Then taking a couple of boxes back out of the apt to go to Goodwill. I wish I had time to sort everything before I moved from the last place but time and energy levels limit me. Still, progress being made. Yay. ---

What a pleasant little Saturday. The weather was beautiful for driving so I made it down to Eugene to have lunch with **Lancia, susan** and **penultima\_thule** , though I got there a little late. Plenty enough time for $17 Chicken Caesar salad. Then over to visit my cousin for a little while, plenty enough time for me to borrow his bass guitar. Then a nice drive home where Bob was waiting for me like a good boy. I was going to take him with me, but I wouldn’t have been able to take him into the restaurant with me, so he stayed home and did the dishes for me. ---

thats why the not-happy look lol the kitten who had just opened her eyes ran out of the alley saw my cousin and followed her was the oft-mentioned raven a ball of sass who outlived all her siblings she was 22 … I still miss all of mine swampy knows how to have a good time, doesn’t he? late happy birthday its hot keeps looking like it wants to rain but hasn’t which is sort of good as we have 30 boxes on the patio with no place for them … this has been the hottest on avg july we’ve ever had… I mean 89-100 at night ? for 2 weeks ? yeesh ---
