The cockatiel escaped from a house a street down, the parrot was stolen in Scottsdale before escaping and showing up at my birdbath. Both birds were successfully rehomed. ---

It says a lot about how long I’ve been out of the I.T. game, that I had to Google ^^ this. * * * I was waiting to move the ASFs until the bebehs got a few days older. There was a suspiciously notable uptick in the “Week! WEEEK!” squeals the last coupla days, and after peering repeatedly, as of a few minutes ago, I finally have visual confirmation: … there’s a brand-new batch of teensy pinkies, snuggled in with their older half-siblings. I really wanna move the whole batch into a bigger enclosure. Which I do, thankfully, have set up. I also have dinner on the stove, and nice clean laundry in the dryer. And a space heater running in the bathroom, cuz I _really_ wanted a nice, long, shower, with hair washing (_ugh, my head will look all fluffy tomorrow, till Kerchief Time!_) so I could put a clean blanket back on my bed. (See, **Carless Co-worker** I did have stuff to do!?) _Current itinerary:_ - Shower. With bonus fluffy friggin’ hair. FML - Some sort of clothing. 'Tis chilly. - Inspect dinner. Stir as needed. - Decide dinner can wait a friggin’ minute. - Smoke. - Don heavy gloves; stir up colony; move mommies, aunties, Romeo, plus furry & pink-skinned bebehs, to new digs. - Ensure nobody’s jump/run off while ^^. - Stir dinner again; taste test; add … something? I did try, repeatedly, to get audio of the bebehs doing their “Week! WEEEK!” routine, I promise. As soon as I so much as move, though, the Mamas hush their little predator-enticements, pronto. Turn on the lights? Everyone freezes, and then slinks, oh so quietly, into the nearest hidey-hole. ---

Mrs. L.A. says we have a communication problem. I said I’ll go get some milk and eggs. I _thought_ she said she could have gotten them yesterday but didn’t think of it. I got home from the store with milk and eggs. A few minutes later I got a text from her saying she’d bought milk and eggs. Since I’ve been wanting to make tuna-and-egg salad for a long time, I hatched a plan. I’d give the cats their gooshy food and make the salad while they’re eating. No begging! Worked like a charm, and Goo got her tuna juice and didn’t try to steal Abbey’s food. As for the salad, I used a large can of albacore, three hard-boiled eggs, celery seeds, tarragon, and mayo. I hadn’t planned on tuna-and-egg salad sandwiches for dinner (in fact, I hadn’t planned anything), but SWMBO decreed that’s what we’re having. She proclaimed it good. ---

Agreed, milk is an ingredient. It goes in au gratin potatoes, various pasta dishes, biscuits, over cereal etc. I’m a single dude, I rarely get through a quart before it goes off. 2 gallons? Woof. ---

I went to the gym today. I like the “Lat pull-down” machine: you grab a bar that’s over your head, sit on a low seat, and pull down the weighted bar. The problem is arising from such a low perch. I tried it today, my knee buckled, and I fell on the floor on my keester. A kindly bodybuilder grabbed the bar from me, and I awkwardly got up. Pretty embarrassing. I use heavy cream for all of those except for the all-rotten potatoes. (‘Cereal’, for me, is porridge.) I use milk for gravy and potatoes au gratin. ---

They are short enough that I can’t see them when I’m backing out and light enough that I might not notice the bump as I drove over them. My current car came with a back up camera, but old habits and fears die slowly. Left over shrimp Alfredo isn’t as good as it was fresh, but is still much better than Marie Calendars. Tomorrow I plan to go to town for x-rays and a stop at the dairy for 15 gallons of whole milk. I really do wish they would let me bring my own containers so I wouldn’t have to pitch all of that plastic. ---

Evening all. Ended up going to the gym, got 3/4 of a mile swam along with sweating time in the sauna and the scale said…that I weighed exactly what I did last Monday. Hmmmph, so I came home and ate a 6-pack of Oreo cookies just because I could. Mondays are my chosen days for weight-in, but what with a big dinner on Sunday and then eating out on Monday, it is also the worst day to check my weight. Ah well, at least I know if I do lose poundage then it’s probably going to stay off. I know what you mean by parking lots, I try to be careful whenever I am at the store or the gym (they have daycare available on-site). Kids can be unpredictable…I should know, closest I came to dying when I was young was running out into the street after leavingmy 1st grade class, and the car slamming on it’s brakes to not hit me. (Crossing guard chewed me out for _weeks_ after that. 65 years and it’s still fresh in my memory. **red** , sorry to hear the news about your one-time neighbor. I never served in Vietnam, but I know a couple folks who did and…well, I feel for the Ukrainian soldiers serving these days. **shoe** , glad rats are re-homed without any breakouts. I get a half-gallon of Skim each Monday, that takes care of 3-4 Instant Breakfast meals over a week or so. **{{nellie}}** , y’all be careful! And come out someday when one of our volunteers is trying to teach soccer to 30+ 4 year olds…albeit he has a lot of parental help, but it would drive me completely around the bend. !0:40pm here, so need to finish up and head off to bed. Best quick snap I could get, of the two litters (one furry bebeh from the older batch, plus the naked pinkies that just arrived) plus a coupla very territorial Mamas - hence the one quick pic - but srsly the tiny toes up at the top of the pic, with the nearly-white girl! Morning, mumpers! It’s a toasty 5c/41f with a predicted high of 13c.56f, and with rain showers. Weather app says “It’s fucking raining and Mother Nature gives zero fucks.” I’ve just been out to haul the biiiiiiiig recycling bin out and it wasn’t raining then, so perhaps Mother Nature has taken pity on me. We have just seen the back of Storm Isha and now we have Storm Jocelyn rolling towards us, and another weather warning for strong winds. **nellie** I love the lat pull-down machine, but some people do have problems when it’s time to let go of the bar. Sometimes using the plate-loaded version is easier to manage, aside from having to haul the bumper plates around! **shoe** cute ratties! Are you sure that’s not a bunch of cocktail sausages you’ve hidden in there? **red** sorry to hear about your neighbour. **Mooooom** and **JtC** over here, scotch eggs normally form part of a salad-type meal, but if you’re serving them on their own then it’s usually just tomato sauce. **flyboy** that’s a lot of milk to get through! I manage 2-3 litres a week, but I have lactose-free milk so 'im indoors buys his own “normal” milk and gets through about the same. Most of mine goes in tea, some goes in my overnight oats or breakfast porridge but I would say the vast majority goes in drinks. **doggio** Spot probably thinks you secretly bought the kennel and bed for him, and tried to use the rabid dingo as some kind of decoy. It’s all happening today - I am waiting for the recycling collection to come and ring the Bells of Bacchus for us, then at some point during the day, I should be switching over the sim cards in my phone as the new provider sent a text to confirm they are porting my number today. Hopefully that all goes without any issues although I have no idea when it will happen, I’ll just have to swap the sim cards at some point in the day and hope for the best. Other than that, it’s another ird-day for me, with bonus grocery shopping to look forward to later. ---
