I was just watching “The Swarm” and looked up Olivia de Havilland’s bio. She turned 100 on July 1st. Are there actors or actresses that are older? Dennis ---

I think [Connie Sawyer](http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0768145/) is the oldest actor who’s still working. She’s 103 and has credits as recent as 2014. ---

Born before _Birth of a Nation_ was made. Sawyer didn’t start acting until 1953, though, mostly did TV, and was not part of the Golden Age of Hollywood. I think de Havilland is the last link to that. No, wait-- Angela Lansbury is still alive, and made films in the 1940s. She was in _Gaslight_ with Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer and Joseph Cotten. Lansbury is 91, though, so, not as old as de Havilland. ---

Honorable mentions: Barbara Hale, Betty White, and Carl Reiner, all born in 1922; and Rose Marie, 1923. Barbara Hale is apparently retired, but the others are still at least somewhat active. ---

Lupita Tovar just turned 106. She starred in the Spanish version of “Dracula” in 1931…filmed at nights on the same sets as the Bela Lugosi version but with a different cast and director. Some people prefer the Spanish one since the crew was able to see the dailies from the English version and come up with better camera angles.
