Oldest age you "Trick or Treated" for Hallowe'en

amarinth: Sorry about your holiday deal. That sounds sad.

Last time I trick or treated was age 15. See, it was like this: I had been shooting pool early in the evening, and lost what little money I had. I was hungry!
When I left the pool hall, I saw all these little kids trick or treating, and says to myself, “hummm, candy sounds good”. So I went to about five or six houses. I got some funny looks, and a comment or two, but also an apple and a little candy. Sometimes ya’ gotta’ do what ya’ gotta’ do.

I never much enjoyed hallowe’en for some reason. I think I last went trick or treating when I was 9 or 10. I few years ago, someone dragged me to a costume party and I was forced to dress up then.

Thanks, for the most part, my dad was a very good father. He just had some weird spots (I think all parents do).

If I ever have kids they’re probably going to say something “Mom was just never interested in Halloween. She never decorated. She bought candy at the last minute and pulled together costumes the night before. I always dreamed of having a huge theme costume, but no, not her.”

Sixteen, and I could still get away with it given some makeup or a mask, as long as I leave my engagement ring off. (I’m 26.) But I’d rather just go buy the stuff on clearance on the first of November.

I stopped liking Trick or Treating when I stopped liking candy. About Age 12.

Now I’m a 21 year old depressed college senior, a major jerk, and an all-around hatefull bastard.

Cause! Or Coincidence!?

I was 25, but instead of a pillowcase for candy, I went 'round with a wineglass and my stash box.

Worked pretty good too.

I trick-or-treated for the first and last time at age 7. I didn’t like most of the candy that was given out, and I didn’t have many friends in my neighborhood to go with. In second grade, however, we were required to make a costume for school, so I figured that I might as well go anyway, since most of the work had already been done.

I think I stopped around 6th grade. Though a few years afterwards, I felt a little nostalgic about getting candy, but that was around the time I stopped celebrating anything.

Toward the end of the night, we started to get very tall trick-or-treaters. I gave them candy, but as they left, I told 'em, “Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday!”

My last time was when I was 17, a senior in high school. I still passed for 15 or 14, so people didn’t comment. My neighborhood was very near to a pretzel outlet, so trick-or-treating meant getting not so much candy, but a lot of little chip and pretzel bags. My parents and I thought this was great, as it stocked our lunch bags for a month. I stopped going after high school ended, though–the loot is meant for the little kids anyway.
