Hey! I had one of those. Basic, no real frills, and cool as hell.
Mrs. FtG just used our Crock-Pot from the mid-70s the other day. As mentioned, I have vintage Advent speakers. Not sure how old my turntable is but it is no longer used. Almost twinsies.
A wall-mount oven that dates, I’m almost positive, to when the house was built in 1956.
I’ve only used it a couple times since we moved in and I’m replacing it ASAP.
I wonder what the market is for vintage ovens.
It’s 100% higher than the market for used ovens.
An old, stainless steel body electric drill that belonged to my grandfather. I would guess it is from the 50’s or early 60’s - still my go to drill when I need high torque.
The oldest thing I can put a positive date on is my Silvertone 1484 guitar amp. The pots are stamped 1965, I’ve had it for 20+ years. Its been serviced a few times*, but it still has the original Jensens, and I’ve got the Silvertone branded tubes set aside.
I’ve also got a Dual turntable, receiver and amp from the 60’s, but I’ve never bothered to date them. My father bought the turntable when he was stationed in Germany, so it’s almost certainly from '67-68.
*Once I brought it to an amp repairman to get it fixed, and I had to leave a $100 deposit. When I brought in a MusicMan to the same guy later, I wasn’t expected to leave a deposit. I asked why, and was told “You brought in a Silvertone, those guys are usually unreliable.”
