The latter two threads were started by OPers who were unaware of the first, and in one thread, the OP was the only post. I recognise the face but I never saw a single episode of ‘The Jeffersons’ and I tend not to ever find out the names of American sit-com stars unless they are overly famous (Kelsey Gramer, Charlie Sheen, David Hyde Pierce, Ted Danson etc) Plus I am only 25 and I guess ‘The Jeffersons’ was quite old. ---

Weez-ay! I wish Nick at Nite would play The Jefferson’s instead of The Cosby Show. Isabel was a wonderful straight man to Sherman Helmsley. She really made the show. ---

I know this might be hard for some of you to believe, but there was a time when people living in places like Britain and Australia weren’t bombarded with every single American sitcom that ever made the airwaves. That someone from one of those countries might not have heard of _The Jeffersons_ is not particularly surprising, especially given the fact that BBC product generally crapped all over American TV back in the seventies (and some would argue that nothing’s changed). Personally, i think _The Jeffersons_ is/was a fantastic show, but i’d never seen an episode until i moved to the US. ---

To some of us, she’s best known for her work in Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. She did [other stuff](http://imdb.com/name/nm0762567/) besides The Jeffersons. Terrific actress, in comedy and drama. Oh, but while we’re bitching, the two late posters really had no excuse for “not noticing” a front-page thread titled \*Say “Good Night” Weezy: Isabel Sanford has died. \* ---
