I remember I used to love this show…three yars ago when I still got the Cartoon Network!! C’mon guys - what’s not to like? [ul] [li] Ted Knight as the announcer[/li][li] Awesome soundtrack: ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-BA-BA-DA-BA!! ::cue disco guitar riff::[/li][li] HILARIOUS plots. Remember the one where Apache Chief and Giganta eaxch got so large they were larger than Earth, and were sort of hovering around it? How about the one where that safari couple had the giant drilling car, and living trees and boulders stole A/C units for them b/c it was too hot in the center of the Earth where the living trees and boulders lived? Great stuff.[/li][/ul] And who can tell me they never made a pig out of a milk carton and some pipe cleaners? 🙂 ---

I’m still wondering about those little life-lessons they tacked on, especially the one featuring the twin girls who were taking a swim lesson from Aqauman (he must have been paying off his community-service sentence). They were planning to hitch-hike home but A-man talked them out of it, saying nothing more than it was “dangerous”. Details, please! Will there be white slavery involved? Debauchery? Whips? You owe your viewers a complete description! Then there was Wonder Woman demonstrating a magic trick of balancing a water pitcher on the edge of a playing card, and Batman and Robin doing their Ambiguously Gay Duo segment about the Heimlich Maneuver. ---

The one that stuck with me was the bunch of kids studying in the library until they’re assaulted by Wonder Woman, who reminds them all not to eat styrofoam. Even at the time I remember thinking, “Sheesh, Wonder Woman. Why you gotta be all up in my face? Shouldn’t you be out catching Fearions or something?” (I was remarkably prescient with my slang as a child.) Great, now I’m stuck in one of those annoying Gen-X’er nostalgia trips. “When you’re feeling bored or blue, watch out for The Munchies. They have way of making you munch when you’re not hungry. Here, munch this! Here, munch that! Soon, you’re not just bored, you’re fat! Teee heee heee heee!” ---

WW’s power of flight originally was based on gliding, but has since been retconned into true flight. So there’s on reason she couldn’t fly in space. You’re right about her need for oxygen, though. Superman also needs to breathe (although he can last for hours/days on one breath). ---
