Why ya avoiding us??? ☹ We had a good meeting with our financial guy and we sat down and played with a spreadsheet and the numbers he gave us. Unless we made a big, stupid mistake, we can expect a fairly comfortable retirement. I sent our spreadsheet to our guy so he can look it over before we go back next week. Assuming we’re right, we’ll get the balls rolling on our various accounts post haste. Yay!! Meanwhile, it’s still dreary, but cool out. Another day without running a/c. Huzzah!! ---
**gotti** y’all have any idea of a timeframe for the move back home? Hope it works out soon as possible.
At this point, it’s a five year plan kind of thing. We moved here in December of 2009 with hopes of escaping the financial calamity of California, and following the prospects of a good job for DH as he’d been unemployed for roughly a year. I’ve never been happy here and DH first admitted about two years ago that the move was a mistake. That “good job” turned out to be vaporware, and the promise of everything being so much cheaper turned out to be an exaggeration. It should go without saying that the culture and political climate are not to my liking. On the sinus front, what did I do to deserve this? I went to the pharmacy for Claritin-D, and the clerk said “Hope you feel better.” Apparently, I’m visibly ailing, and don’t look like a meth addict. ---

I got a call/email about one job from a recruiter today. They wanted add’l info from me & to make sure I wasn’t already represented for the position. I asked for the job description as all they sent was a job title, no description. She told me they didn’t have one yet. Ummm, you haven’t given me the company name, the industry, or any details other than a title. How can I really be sure that I am not aware of a position when all you give me is a title & a town name? :smack: Also, that title can span experience levels from Jr to Sr (& salaries to match). Twice today I got emails from people with Anglo names & then phone calls with such Indian accents that I could barely understand them (& I’ve worked with a lot of Indians & other foreigners.) I didn’t even realize that they were from the same person. If the email was from “Ravi” or “Srinivas” or another typical Indian name I would probably have connected the two, but from “Bob” not so much. Ifn I move to another country, I’m keeping my name, I think it’s easier. Could you see me in Swerdern as “Sperdermahn” or “Jern” or “Terner” or “Berb”? \* - John/Tony/Bob ---
