The biggest problem with changing them, IMHO, is that this retroactively changes all the earlier posts to the new smileys. The various different appearances of them definitely have new connotations that might not have been intended when they were posted. On occasion I remember seeing clever art pieces done with smileys, and the color scheme of them might have been important. ---
