Yeah, they’re cute alright… except for the marking with urine thing and their toxic bite.

Slow lorises can produce a toxin which they mix with their saliva and use as protection against enemies. Mothers will lick this toxin onto their offspring before leaving them to search for food. The toxin is produced by glands on the insides of their elbows - the branchial region. The lorises lick or suck it into their mouths and deliver it when they bite. The toxin is not known to be fatal to humans, but causes a painful swelling. If the toxin does not deter a predator, the slow loris will often drop from the branch to the ground and roll into a protective ball.

Of course, other than that, they got nothin’ but the whole curling-into-a-ball thing.

It’s a good thing I don’t have one. I would never be able to stop tickling it, and that would most certainly piss off the cats.

zoo should let people tickle the loris as a therapy treatment. you pay xx and you tickle the loris for 15 minutes. all would be happy.

Last night I tried to tickle my cat like the slow loris was being tickled, and she bit me. Really hard.

Last night I tried to tickle my cat like the slow loris was being tickled, and she bit me. Really hard.

Three out of three Bodoni cats greatly enjoy a good gitchy session. Sometimes they want tummy gitchies, and sometimes they just want a nice thorough ear skritching. One of them really, really likes getting his butt paddled, and nothing else will make him happy until I thump his hind end for a while.

None of them clench their little fists, they spread their paws instead, but all of them will raise their front legs straight up to allow for full tickling access.
