Oh, no! He was one of the Dopers I met at the one and only Dopefest I went to. I have been worried about him and his health problems, but he was one of those perpetual posters you think will be around forever. RIP and may his memory be a blessing. ---

My condolences to his friends and family. Does anyone know offhand what other names he went by? He was obviously an Old Doper, but I don’t recall either Dropezone or MW from the old days. I got linkedin and facebook contacts from him about a decade ago, but I didn’t recognize, or perhaps didn’t remember, the name “Warns”, and I am cautious with linkedin and avoid Facebook completely if I can help it. ---

He was MikeW on Live Journal. He was Mike Warns on Facebook. He was on Cecil’s Science Advisory board. He had a profile on that Randy guys board. I’m pretty sure he has a profile on Giraffe board as @Dropzone. He usually has a lower case D. As in @dropzone.
