Omigod, first base is NOW OPEN

On an 0-2 count? And I’m going to assume that the Pirates were practically giving 2nd base to Braun. Was there even a throw? Would it have been the first pitch, then yes Braun should have stayed put. But 0-2, 2 outs, why not? Intentionally walking Fielder on what then became a 1-2 count is also absurd. I don’t know the Brewers lineup, but you’d hope their #5? hitter wouldn’t be some sack of crap. Granted, he’s not Prince Fielder, but he can’t be so incompetent as to say, “oh no, don’t load the bases for our #5 hitter!”

Well, it was Casey McGehee, who isn’t exactly setting the world on fire this season (BA .239, SLG .350). IIRC, he proceeded to strike out looking.
