> [@Darth\_Hamsandwich](#): > > I had a feeling that the thread would start off this way. …you chose to “poison the well” when you decided to quote my post in your OP. You didn’t need to do that. That was kinda rude. In context I was responding to this: > [@Controversial encounters between law-enforcement and civilians - the omnibus thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/controversial-encounters-between-law-enforcement-and-civilians-the-omnibus-thread/700942/14012): > > Where is the “omnibus” thread about the good things that police do every day? This thread is depressing as fuck. A thread like that would provide a nice counterbalance, methinks. > [@](#): > > I get the vibe around the Dope that if the reporting isn’t bleeding-edge, exactly “up-to-the-second” that someone will perk up and say something along the lines of, “Seriously? You could only find a good cop story from 2013?!” In the pit literally a few posts before you posted I posted a “good news cop story” that happened just down the road from me. And nobody pounced on me. Nobody questioned it. You are misunderstanding the “vibe.” --- _[View the full topic](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/omnibus-awesome-things-that-cops-have-done-counter-thread/816230)._
