Huh. First I’ve heard of it. I guess it just goes to show… …that the NBA isn’t important enough for me to pay attention to, so all the billionaire team owners should just pack it in and give all their money toward constructing a meaningful social safety net. ---

Nitpick: Howard Schultz sold the team (and the WNBA Storm) to OKC businessman Clay Bennett, who pinky-swore that the Sonics were safe in Seattle. IIRC, according to emails and other communications that came to light, Bennett was already planning the move if he didn’t get financing for a new arena. He didn’t, but (again, IIRC) he hardly made any effort. ---
