Oddly, gMaps identifies a location about 2000’ north of the runway as “Threemile Island”. Not sure what to make of that. ---

It wound up being a two-day trial, so I served for three days (counting the day when we were interviewed and empaneled), though it wasn’t a major or infamous crime (several charges around DUI and resisting arrest). I haven’t moved since 2009, I’m still a registered voter in the county, but I have not once gotten a jury summons since then. I suspect that, having served, I got some manner of deferment on being called again, which has yet to lapse. ---

I was seated as a juror twice. Once we went through the trial and reached a verdict in a civil case. The other we were chosen in the morning, broke for lunch, and the accused took a plea bargain. We cooled our heels an extra hour then were called in to a courtroom empty but for the judge who informed us. ---
