I used to have a co-worker who used this as his favorite joke. If there was a news headline like, ‘Man dismembers entire family, cooks and eats them in front of neighborhood children’, he would say very reasonably, “Well, let’s hear his side of it. Maybe he had a good reason.” Always made me laugh, especially when uninitiated new people were around. ---
