Remarkable for a morgue manager, at the very least. Mary Roach’s entertaining best-seller “Stiff” has a chapter on plastic surgeons taking a training course on facial procedures using decapitated cadaver heads (all legit and above-board, we are assured). Never felt the slightest inclination to keep any autopsy “souvenirs”.\* \*there _was_ the time I needed to transport a couple of brains in jars from one hospital to another, in the cargo compartment of my SUV. Drove with special care, since if I’d been stopped by police for a traffic violation and they looked in the back, I would’ve had some 'splainin to do, particularly regarding the one labeled “Abby Normal”. \*\*we still have the bladder stones the vet removed from our small spaniel decades ago. Sentimental reasons, I guess. ---

Clearly the LPNH has been taken over by Nazis; it actually endorsed Trump over whoever the fuck the Libertarian candidate was last year. Yeah. It’s a real dillema (trilemma?) for raging racists when two groups they hate are themselves engaged in a more or less race war between themselves. Reminds me of the classic Star Trek bit with the computer going haywire over being asked to process a logical contradiction. Gotta pick a side; can’t pick a side; gotta pick; can’t pick. She admitted it on her livestream, “Fuck, I hit somebody” she said. She stayed at the scene and “cooperated” with police, except she lied about having the green light, and tried to refuse to turn over her phone, the phone that will convict her. Now I suppose her followers will not only stay followers, but many of them will (I’d bet) rally behind her and help her raise money for her defense. She killed a man in the service of being an influencer, or however she thinks of herself. I hope justice is served upon her. ---

You know the only time the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim leaders of Jerusalem all got together and cooperated enthusiastically? It was to denounce the gay Pride parade. As an LGBTQ person, it’s a great honor to be the occasion for such a beautiful breakthrough in religious ecumenism. Brings a tear to my eye. ---

This has been a problem with the Libertarian Party almost since its founding - they somehow got it into their heads that “opposing government restrictions on speech” means that they as a non-government-operated political organization shouldn’t kick Nazis, communists, crackpots of every stripe, or anyone else out of their party. Every single chapter of the group ends up controlled by whoever can get 20 people together to vote as a bloc, whether their ideas are diametrically opposed to the nominal principles of “libertarianism” or not. ---
