Even if, as I strongly suspect, Mx. Benedict was a very dangerous person, they had two strikes against them from birth, and didn’t deserve this. RIP. ---

A mother mixed up a drink for a kid who had been bullying her son. The bully got sent to the hospital. Intentionally sickening a child? My reaction as well. When I read the ingredients, I assumed she thought it would be a “let’s see how much he likes this nasty-tasting but harmless concoction” lesson for the dickhead kid. If you had asked me if such a drink would send a kid to the hospital, I’d have said no. (To be clear, I wouldn’t recommend it!) So, yeah, ill-considered. But I guess I’m a jerk because I’m not terribly sorry the bully had a shitty day if, in fact, there are no lingering problems. ---

Reading the article, it says the bullied kid gave the drink to the bully. Would there have been charges if he hadn’t given it to him but instead waited to see if the bully demanded it? ---

Adding enough salt to one could raise the amount of salts to dangerous levels.
