Huh, I hadn’t realized that that framing of the issue was due to Sr. Joan Chittister. I’ve read a good bit of her work. I’ve said before, though, that there are actually six sides to the abortion debate, not two: Pro-life, anti-life, pro-choice, anti-choice, pro-abortion, and anti-abortion. Not even then, really, given that her ordeal has likely rendered her sterile. It only makes sense if you start from the premise that someone must be inferior to make the privileged class superior, and the inferior class must be punished to show their inferiority. ---

Technically a “forced expulsion” would also be a form of ethnic cleansing, but it’s usually not used in that context. And this isn’t a nice suggestion to move, you’d be taken into custody and dumped somewhere, and they’d keep all your stuff. It’s a nasty term to use. ---
