I’ll add that GIGO expresses himself better in English than many other posters who have English as a first language do. He’s still wrong about all that other stuff we disagree on, though. ---

Everyone that knows the history knows that indeed I do not agree with **magellan01** on many subjects; so I have to give **magellan01** the most sincere thanks for his support here. Now I ask you to go back and read my post to which you responded. I’m not saying he was right. Or that you were wrong. My point was that I think it is incorrect and unfair of you to attribute any disagreement or miscommunication to GIGO’s first language being something other than English (Spanish, I think). For what it is worth, I tend to agree with you in that thread. The problem is that the whole GW thing has been sold so hard and so well that it has become the new religion. I do think, as another poster mentioned in that thread, that a lot of people are guilty of an excluded middle fallacy. I do think his response was a bit Pavlovian. But regardless, I simply don’t attribute any disagreement or miscommunication to be due to a language problem. And, as I said, I think your implying so was both incorrect and unfair. I’d ask you to search into any post he’s made in any thread. In the many exchanges we’ve had I don’t recall any disagreement that could be chalked up to a language problem. I’m pretty sure they all can be attributed to him being unable to comprehend my vastly higher intellect. ---

Well, your Hobson’s Choice would have worked better if the person in question’s command of English was not open to debate. But since most people know his first language is not English, it didn’t work and came off as a cheap shot. Onward.
