The problem with many of those who think that there is a “true” right or wrong also seem to think that they can determine that truth from bronze age folklore. The Muslims who oppose LGBTQ+ books are _not_ Moral Relativists, they do believe that they are standing for what is true and right. ---

That’s also an issue, the idea that we need to harken back to the morality of thousands of years ago, as if we haven’t improved as a global society in any way since then. Correct - while moral relativism is harmful bullshit, it is impirtant to realize that without perfect information (which we will never have) it is impossible to have perfect knowledge of the truth. An 11-year-old student, described as an A student who never got into trouble, has been kicked out of a Catholic school. Because, you see, his parents dared to disagree with the new homophobic priest who yanked books from the shelves, among other actions.
