Omnibus "religious people who think they control the virus" thread.

Wow - pot calling the kettle black :smack: There are no non Hindus who have lost their citizenship - stop reading Al Jazeera.

Tell that to Mitt Romney

You have stumped me  Hope you are as good on November 03, 2020. Wish you luck.

Black Lives matter

A history of anti-Hispanic bigotry in the United States

If Americans can claim to have a healthy democracy and are dealing with the above problems, uhh where do they get the high moral ground to point fingers at countries that are doing the same?

Anyways - this has gone farther than I expected, I’ll stop.

What are we telling Mitt Romney: former Governor, former GOP nominee for President and current Senator?

I don’t blame you for bowing out. I don’t think you’ve quite got the hang of this cogent argument process. It’s okay. It’s just not your thing.

We see, admit and are trying to fix the racial problems of our country.
Can you do the same when it comes to your country?

Tony Spell is on house arrest, but Kenneth Copeland has ended the virus.

He’s demanding a heatwave, a supernatural heatwave. It isn’t surprising the bullshit is rising.

So its about heat, like supernatural fire? Brimstone, stuff like that. Its not my case, but I’d check for pentagrams.

Looks like he’ll get it, Weather Channel says record heat for the southwest. :fire:

But no humidity! He didn’t mention humidity did he. Heh

SuntanLotion is the last person on the planet who should be mocking bullshit.

Nah, he’s talking about Old Testament stuff.

A crowd of Close to 2,500 Hasidic Jews crowd Brooklyn streets for funeral of rabbi who died of coronavirus.

Bill De Blasio was so angry he went down there in person to yell at them.

Yeah, and now de Blaisio is getting crap for it.

I think it would would have been better had de Blasio been more specific WHICH Jewish community was at fault here (and I do very much hold them at fault) but even if he had some people would have still cried “bigot!”. There is a very serious problem with religious types wanting exceptions to public health rules during the pandemic and frankly they’re full of shit. If the harm would be just to themselves that would be one thing but this virus spreads. They’re endangering other people with their antics.

I know of one church that is having nine person services. You go to their website and sign up for the service you want. They have two clergy, and a facility that is big enough to have two seperate services at the same time, with seperate exits and entrances, and the two groups never meeting. with time in between services to sanitize chairs and such. Things like bulletins are tossed after one use. On Sundays they have at least six or seven services in a row, shorter than usual of course. I think on Easter there were nineteen, for a total of 171 people attending. Gotta be rough on the clergy, I hope they don’t burn out.

The problem is that those two priests are meeting over 80 people each throughout the day.

I’m sure they take precautions. Like putting the Communion host in a little pocket in a beanbag, then tossing it out to the communicant…

They touch nobdy. The Host is offered in individual waxed paper packets. The tiny individual glasses for the wine are picked out by the communicant and afterwards placed in a basket to be washed later. No glass is ever used twice in a day. Chairs in the little chapel areas are places seven or eight feet apart. They are doing nothing to endanger anyone knowingly.

Hackysack might be better… no hands!

And The Holy Hackysack has a nice ring to it.

I’m ashamed and disgusted that a bunch of very Jewish Jews would publically act like such idiots.

Let’s look at the man most Jews regard as the greatest sage since Moses- Rabbi Avraham Moses Ben Maimon. He’s known as both Rambam (no seriously) and Maimonides. What did this man do when he wasn’t busy being a Talmud scholar? He was a doctor. Would Maimonides advise us to follow the medical advice of a bunch of doctors and avoid gathering in crowds? I think it’s clear he would.
