Not defending Chic-fil-A, but when the furor erupted, I did see some LGBTQ employees post on social media that they never felt unwelcome at that restaurant. But my surprise is more at the franchiser’s tone-deafness; as I said, they were real quick with the damage control when the protests began. Could be a new franchiser, of course. ---

After their daughters got beaten in a high school sport (the article won’t reveal what sport or what school), the parents of the losing girls demanded that the sports authority prove that the winning girl wasn’t trans. They went back through all of her school records all the way back to kindergarten to prove she had always been a girl. My first job in high school was with CfA, so I should have known the right term. It occurred to me that since the CfA homophobia stuff came out, another location opened up in Decatur; maybe that’s the store that’s being sued, rather than the downtown store. ---

AVN became the Australian Vaccination-Skeptics Network, but later changed _that_ name because many members “did not feel comfortable with having the word ‘skeptics’ in” the organization’s name. So they became the Australian Vaccination-risks Network. New name, same old antivax bullshit ---
